Both the Confederacy and Trump’s Supporters who Raised the Confederate Flag

Believed in Settling their Disputes by “Fighting like Hell” via “Trial by Combat”

The “Tribute to Union General Milroy” the first Union General to enforce President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation follows the below article on “The Spiritual Aspects of the 2020 Presidential Election.”

It seemed fitting to include the above mentioned article on the same website as “A Tribute to Civil War Union General Robert H. Milroy” because in the article on the 2020 Presidential Election I included a piece that I had written about Union General Milroy that was published in the Winchester Star.

Like the Confederates – Union General Milroy felt that it would be according to God’s Will as to who would win the Civil War.  And, that is one of the definitions of “Trial by Combat”.  The Confederates believed that it was God’s will for slavery to continue.  On the other hand Union General Milroy believed that God had called him to help set the slaves free and that the Union would win.  And, less than the six months Milroy was in Winchester, Virginia he helped over 5,000 slaves to board the train going north to freedom.

The purpose of combining the two articles is because of the “similarities” between Trump’s supporters who carried the Confederate Flag through the halls of the United States Capitol and the Confederates who carried the Confederate Flag into battle.  And, both Trump’s supporters and the Confederate Army believed that the only way they could settle their dispute was to “Fight like Hell” via “Trial by Combat”.

Well, isn’t that what President Trump and his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani told those gathered on the morning of January 6, 2021 just before they stormed the United States Capitol:  to walk to the United States Capitol and “Fight like Hell” via “Trial by Combat” to settle their disputes.

And, it is documented that the Confederates who “fought like hell” on the battlefields of the Civil War – they too described the Civil War as a “Trial by Combat”.

The Confederate soldiers who carried the Confederate Flags onto the battle fields during the American Civil War – held to the belief that the only way the question of “Secession” and “Slavery” could be settled - was not through the courts - but to “Fight like Hell” via “Trial by Combat”.  And, by definition that is the meaning of “Trial by Combat” when you can’t settle your dispute in the courts – then fight like hell on the battlefield.

As already mentioned – by definition “Trial by Battle” also meant that the Confederates placed their fate in God’s hands, trusting that God would deliver victory to the righteous party which they felt were the slave owners.  And, for that reason, while sitting in prison wondering if he would be tried for treason, seeking mercy, in his letter to President Johnson, Confederate Naval Secretary Stephen R. Mallory wrote that after losing the war he realized that the Confederates lost the war because slavery and secession were not according to the “Will of God”.

Given that President Trump and Rudy Giuliani urged Trump’s supporters to “Fight like Hell” via “Trial by Combat” – then surely they must know by now that it was God’s Will for Biden to win the Presidency.  However, unbelievably Trump still refuses to concede to Biden.

As mentioned above, following “The Spiritual Aspects of the 2020 Presidential Election,” is the second section of this website, “Tribute to Union General Milroy” (click here to go directly to this section).

The Spiritual Aspects of the 2020 Presidential Election

The Door the Lord Closed – Donald Trump Couldn’t Open

Revelation 3:7

7 “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia.

This is the message from the one who is holy and true,

the one who has the key of David.

What He opens, no one can close;

and what He closes, no one can open.

Why did Trump loose the 2020 Presidential Election?

The day “Before” the State of Pennsylvania put Joe Biden over the top and he was declared the winner of the 2020 Presidential election I sent myself the following Email documenting that the Lord quickened me to Isaiah 22:22 and Revelation 3:7 with the understanding that whoever won the State of Pennsylvania would be the next President of the United States.  And, from Revelation 3:7 I knew that the Presidential candidate that lost the State of Pennsylvania would try to close the door God opened and open the door God closed concerning the election.

And, that Rhema Word has now come to pass!  We have all witnessed President Trump time and again try to Close the Door that God Opened and Open the Door that God closed concerning the election.

At the time I sent the email to myself, Donald Trump was still ahead of Joe Biden in Pennsylvania.  I sent the email to myself at 6:32 a.m. and it wasn’t until 2 hours later at 8:50 a.m. that Biden took the lead in Pennsylvania by about 5,600 votes.  And, it wasn’t until 11:25 a.m. on Saturday, November 7 the day after I sent the email to myself that the Associated Press declared that Joe Biden had won the state of Pennsylvania and that his win in Pennsylvania was the state that put Joe Biden over the top.

Following the copy of the Email I sent to myself on “Friday, November 6” is an image from “The Inquirer” with the headline that reads “Joe Biden has won the presidency after Pennsylvania put him over the top” to confirm that it wasn’t until the day after I sent the Email to myself that Biden won Pennsylvania.  The date on the article posted by “The Inquirer” reads “November 7, 2020”

To really understand the profound significance of “Revelation 3:7” in the context of the 2020 Presidential Election it was well worth the time to document the following multifaceted aspects of how Revelation 3:7 unfolded in the natural realm.  The January 6, 2021 uprising was only one of President Trump’s attempts to close the door that God opened for Biden and open the door that God closed for Trump.

However, before going any further as to the multifaceted aspects of Revelation 3 I want to share the following image from the “Notes” app on my IPAD because the Scriptures the Lord quickened me to have a bearing on President Trump’s present day situation.  As you can see, I made the entry into “Notes” on October 3, 2020 – one month before Trump lost the November 3rd election and three months before he was impeached.

On October 3, 2020 while I was praying the Lord quickened me to three different Scriptures concerning the future of President Trump:  Job 22:21-30 came to pass within two days.  And, Isaiah 2:12 and Psalm 76:12 are still unfolding.

At the time of the above Post - President Trump had been diagnosed with the Coronavirus and was being treated at Walter Reed Hospital.  However, from Job 22:21-30 I knew that the Lord was raising up intercessors to pray for Trump’s deliverance.  And, just two days later, much to everyone’s surprise, President Trump was able to leave Walter Reed Hospital and return back to his duties at the White House.  Even the physicians were surprised by Trump’s rapid recovery.

As you can see “October 3” is the date time stamped on Notes and from the following Fox New headline you can see Trump left Walter Reed back to the White House on October 5, 2020.

President Trump returns to White House, releases video after hospital stay

Scripture reveals that whoever Blesses Israel - they will be blessed.  And, without a doubt President Trump has been blessed for being an ally of Israel.  And, without a doubt I know the Lord showed mercy to Trump when he lifted him up off the bed of COVID because he and his administration has blessed Israel.

Having said that, I knew from Isaiah 2:12 and Psalm 76:12 that “a day of reckoning” was in store for President Trump and that he would be brought down because of his pride and arrogance.

And, that day of reckoning that God chose to break Trump’s pride came on November 3, 2020 when Trump lost the 2020 Presidential Election, on January 6, 2021 when Trump’s supporters stormed the United States Capitol, on January 13, 2021 when he was impeached for an unprecedented second time, and on January 25, 2021 when Congress delivered the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate.

The Lord Blessed President Trump for blessing Israel and delivered him from the Coronavirus.  However, that didn’t give Trump the grace to praise the Lord and at the same time curse people who are made in the image of God with the same mouth!  It dishonors who the Lord is and how non-believers view the Church!

Psalm 85:8 reveals that after being healed of COVID that Trump returned again to his "Self-Confident Folly".

Psalm 85:8 I will listen [with expectancy] to what God the Lord will say, for He will speak peace to His people, to His saints (those who are in right standing with Him)—but let them not turn again to [self-confident] follyAmplified Bible, Classic Edition

As it pertains to Trump - folly speaks of his arrogance and his silliness and childishness to ridicule and put people down.  Trump's posts on Social Media is only one example to the degree that Trump will go to trample people - even his allies while boasting how great he is!

More to the point, President Trump continues to “boasts of how great he is” and in the same breath he will praise God and curse man that was made in God's image – and as James said:  that is not right.

James 3:5-10 In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison.  Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God.  10 And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not rightNLT

Following is a picture of Trump holding a Bible in front of a Church.  Yet, at the same time he will crush people made in God's image.  As the Apostle James said, this is not right!

Read what James wrote:  James 1:26 26 If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.   NLT

Trump would do well if he applied the following Scriptures to his life and blessed people rather than break their spirit.

Proverbs 15:4  A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.  ESV

Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.  ESV

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.  ESV

Proverbs 17:27 Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.  ESV

Proverbs 12:18 There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.  ESV

Proverbs 18:6-7 6 Fools’ words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating.  7 The mouths of fools are their ruin; they trap themselves with their lips. NLT

The words of King Solomon author of the Book of Proverbs reveals what happens to someone like President Trump who has an ungoverned tongue.  Trump is his own worst enemy.  It was not right as to how the Reporters and other Politicians treated Trump.  However, Proverbs 18:6-7 explains why they responded to Trump with such disdain.

“Fight like Hell” was the Spark that Produced a Blaze:  Trump’s words “Fight like Hell” can be likened to a spark that sets a forest on fire.  And, in his “Grand and Boastful Speech” on the morning of January 6, 2021 Trump urged his supporters to walk to the United States Capitol and “Fight like Hell” – which is ironic given that the Apostle James tells us that someone like Trump who has a boastful tongue – their tongue is set on fire by hell.

The Tongue that is set on Fire by Hell:  Scripture reveals that Satan is a liar, a murderer and the accuser of the brethren.  In other words, when President Trump misled his supporters into believing that the election was stolen from him and accused Vice President Pence of refusing to declare him the winner of the Presidential Election when Pence did not have the authority to do so – then we know that Trump’s tongue was set on fire by hell itself – meaning Trump was under the influence of Satan.

James 3:5-8 In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. NLT

And, this is what a Tongue set on Fire looked like on January 6, 2021:  “Fight like Hell” was the Spark that led Trump’s supporters to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue and Storm the United States Capitol.  And, in the wake of the destruction throughout the United States Capitol that sent both Senators and Congress into hiding - five people were left dead.  In the wake of the spark that produced a blaze – countless others have been arrested and face up to ten years in prison – while countless others have lost their jobs.  And, the list goes on.

Who can deny that it was Trump’s grand speech that he held in front of the White House on January 6, 2021 that was the tongue of fire that led to the Insurrection of the United States Capitol and has caused so much unnecessary damage to America as a whole – including President Trump.

President Trump, he too has been burned by the very fire he started.  He has been Impeached for an unprecedented second time, he has been abandoned by many in the Republican Party, and is leaving the Office of the Presidency in shame.  And, the list goes on.

Will there be Other Days of Reckoning:  Going back to Isaiah 2:12 and Psalm 76:12 – “a day of reckoning” was in store for President Trump and the world watched as Trump was brought down because of his pride and arrogance.

November 3, 2020 when Trump lost the 2020 Presidential Election – it was a Day of Reckoning, and on January 13, 2020 when Trump was Impeached for an unprecedented time, it too was a Day of Reckoning.  And, until President Trump humbles himself – there will be other days of reckoning to come.  Either Trump humbles himself or the Lord will continue to humble him.

Now, back to the Spiritual Aspects of Revelation 3:7 and how it pertains to the 2020 Presidential Election.

The Door the Lord Closed – Donald Trump Couldn’t Open

Revelation 3:7

7 “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Philadelphia.

This is the message from the one who is holy and true,

the one who has the key of David.

What He opens, no one can close;

and what He closes, no one can open.

On the day “Before” Joe Biden was declared the winner of the State of Pennsylvania the Lord quickened me to Isaiah 22:22 and Revelation 3:7 concerning who would win the 2020 Presidential Election.

The day “Before” the State of Pennsylvania put Joe Biden over the top and he was declared the winner of the 2020 Presidential election I sent myself an Email documenting that the Lord quickened me to Isaiah 22:22 and Revelation 3:7 with the understanding that whoever won the State of Pennsylvania would be the next President of the United States.  And, from Revelation 3:7 I knew that the Presidential candidate that lost the State of Pennsylvania would try to close the door God opened and open the door God closed concerning the election.

When the Lord quickens us to a particular Scripture that applies to our present day situation – that particular Scripture is known as a Rhema Word[1].  And, the Rhema Word of God- Revelation 3:7 has now come to pass!  We have all witnessed President Trump time and again try to Close the Door that God Opened and Open the Door that God closed concerning the election.

Donald Trump filed over 60 lawsuits trying to legally overturn Joe Biden’s victory – to no avail.

And, when the Courts would not overturn Joe Biden’s Victory – on January 6, 2021 President Trump and his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani encouraged the thousands of Trump supporters who had gathered for Trump’s rally in front of the White House to “Fight like Hell” and settle the question of who won the 2020 Presidential Election via “Trial by Combat”.

By definition “Trial by Combat” means that if President Trump and his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani couldn’t win in the Courts – then they would win by combat.

More to the point - Rudy Giuliani led Trump’s supporters to believe that they could settle the judicial dispute over the election by means of “Trial by Combat”.

And, with the hope they would win by means of “Trial by Combat” – thousands of Trump’s loyal supporters walked from the rally in front of the White House down Pennsylvania Avenue

to the United States Capitol to “Fight like Hell” and settle the dispute of who was President via “Trial by Combat”.

However, the “Trial by Combat” on January 6, 2021 would prove to be Trump’s last and most costly effort to try and stop Congress from certifying the electoral votes of Joe Biden’s victory.

As we now know, “Fighting like Hell” and “Trial by Combat” did not bring Trump the Victory that he so desperately wanted.  A victory he so badly wanted that he would even go as far as putting the lives of others in danger.  Inciting his supporters to go to the United States Capitol and wreak havoc in the hopes of preventing the electoral votes from being counted left five people dead.

Instead of Victory – Trump is now a defeated man.  Trump is experiencing defeat in a way that he never thought possible.  Not only has Trump been abandoned by many in his own administration and party - Trump was banned from social media – his lifeline to keep in touch with his supporters.  Social media was Trump’s “trumpet” to sound the alarm and summon his supporters.

And on January 13, 2021 Trump was impeached for an unprecedented and unthinkable second  time after inciting his supporters to storm the United States Capitol – an act of rebellion against our government that turned into what one would expect from “Fighting like Hell” and “Trail by Combat”:  a deadly siege.

The goal of “Trial by Combat” was to stop Congress from officially certifying the Electoral Ballots which was a Constitutional requirement before Joe Biden could take the oath of office on January 20, 2021.

And, Trump’s supporters came dangerously close to accomplishing that goal.  Security was only able to clear the Senate Floor approximately 60 seconds before the mob actually breached the Senate Floor.  One shudders to think what would have happened, if in all the confusion, the Electoral Ballots had been left in the Senate Chambers and the protestors had been able to get  their hands on the Electoral Ballots and destroyed them.

And, it was the fast thinking of the Floor aides who were focused enough to secure the Electoral Ballots and remove them from the Senate Chambers before Trump’s supporters were able to breach the Senate Floor.  If the Ballots had been destroyed that would have prevented Congress from fulfilling their Constitutional duties to officially declare Joe Bided the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election.

The protestors were unable to confiscate the Electoral Ballots; however, they were able to rifle through a multitude of documents that had been left on the Senate Floor.  The following image of rioters searching through documents found in the Senate on January 6, 2021 is from a You Tube Video posted by a reporter that was inside the Senate Floor when the rioters breached the Senate Floor.

The protestors were unable to confiscate the Electoral Ballots, however, they were able to disrupt the congressional proceedings and force lawmakers into hiding.  And, as America’s Lawmakers went into hiding, Trump’s supporters wreaked havoc throughout the halls of the United States Capitol.

How frightening it must have been to know that the protestors were trying to find Vice President Mike Pence who had been forced into hiding.  As they roamed the halls of the Capitol Building leaving destruction in their wake - they were heard chanting “Find Pence” – “Hang Pence”.  Given their chants of finding Pence one has to stop and ask was the gallows that the Protesters erected on the National Mall with the United States Capitol in the background more than just symbolism?

And, we all shudder to think what would have happened if Security had not been able to get the Vice President out of the Senate Chamber to safety just seconds before Trump’s supporters reached the top of a nearby landing.

We are told that many of Trump’s supporters who stormed the Capitol were specifically targeting Vice President Pence.  They were enraged with Pence to the point that they wanted to kill him because Trump misled them to believe that as the “Presiding Officer” over the Senate Vice President Pence had the power to send the Electoral Ballots back to the states to be recertified – and declare him the Winner of the 2020 Presidential Election - but refused to do so.

Trump’s supporters, like Trump, expected Vice President Pence to reject the count in spite of the fact that he didn’t have the power to do so or that there was never any proof of widespread voter fraud.

Under the Constitution, Vice President Pence also serves as the President of the Senate.  And, it was in this capacity that Vice President Pence had the Constitutional Duty as “Presiding Officer” of the Senate to oversee the counting of Electoral Ballots.  And, at the end of the count, after all the Electoral Ballots had been completed and certified – in accordance with his Constitutional duties as the “Presiding Officer” Vice President Pence then announced the name of the next President – Joe Biden.

And, that is what enraged Trump, Giuliani, and Trump’s supporters – they all knew that Vice President Pence was not going to declare Donald Trump winner of the 2020 Presidential Election.

They all knew that at the end of the day that Vice President Pence was going to officially certify all the Electoral Ballots and as the Presiding Officer of the Senate that he was going to fulfill his Constitutional duty and personally declare Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election.

At the end of the day – once again - Trump could not Close the Door that God opened for Biden.  Nor could Trump Open the Door that God Closed on him.

Before leaving what happened inside the Senate Chamber it is well worth noting that the “Most Prominent Symbol” of the insurrection that attempted to overthrow the United States Government was Jacob Chansley a man who identifies himself as a “Shaman”.  And, the images of this Shaman chanting in the gallery of the Senate has been seen all around the world.

Jacob Chansley has become the “Most Prominent Symbol” of the Insurrection

That Attempted to overthrow the United States Government on January 6, 2021

What?  The Most Prominent Symbol of the Insurrection is a Shaman!

But – a Shaman is someone who practices divination and invokes demons to do their bidding.

I would not have believed that such a thing could have happened on the Senate floor.  Yet, a news reporter made a video of Chansley as he stood in the gallery of the Senate and as he beat his flag draped spear up and down on the Senate floor he was heard chanting.

The following three images are from the same above mentioned You Tube Video.  The first image is of Chansley seated at Mike Pence’s desk where Chansley left a hand written note on Mike Pence’s desk.

The note reads:  “It’s only a matter of time, Justice is Coming!”

The second image is of the handwritten not penned by Chansley and the third picture is of Chansley standing behind Pence’s desk as he leads the protesters in prayer – asking God for victory.

Asking God for victory comes as no surprise because “Trial by Combat” was considered to be a “Religious Endeavor” – even here in America.  In fact, until “duels” were outlawed in America even politicians here in America were known to settle disputes via dueling – a form of “Trial by Combat”.  The belief was that whoever won the “Trial by Combat” won because God intervened on their behalf and gave them the victory because they were the ones in the right.

As we now know, in the wake of the “Trial by Combat” five people were left dead.  And, many of those who stormed the Capitol have either lost their jobs and/or been arrested and face up to 10 years in prison and the list goes on.

And, it’s ironic that the hand written note to Mike Pence that “It’s only a matter of time, Justice is Coming!” that Jacob Chansley left on Pence’s desk is now what Chansley is facing: Justice!  He has been arrested and is asking President to pardon him before Trump leaves office.  He is facing a six-count federal indictment including two felonies and four misdemeanors.

Chansley was refused bond and was transferred from Arizona to Washington, D.C. to stand trial.  And, when Chansley heard the charges in federal court that he was being charged with attempting to overthrow the United States Government – he was heard muttering “Oh, my God”.

Chansley’s sin has become his punishment.  It was only a matter of time before he and not Pence faced judgment.

The following are more photographs of Chansley in the Senate Chamber.

Shaman’s are known for wearing the horns of an animal as well as clothing to imitate an animal – hence Chansley’s horns and outfit as seen in the above image.  In the above mentioned video while in the Senate Chamber, Chansley can be heard “chanting” and the pounding of his spear into the floor over and over had the effect of the sound of a drum.  This too is another characteristic of a Shaman.  The idea is that the sound of a drum that was created by his spear was to induce a trance so spirits could either move into him or into his spear.

And, his multiple tattoos that cover his body – they too are the tattoos of a Shaman.

Pause, and think about that!

Pause, and ask the Lord what was unleashed in the Capitol through this Shaman when he walked to the Capitol and invoked evil spirits.  He may have “Fought like Hell” in the “Trial by Combat” – but there can be no doubt who the winner was – and it wasn’t the Shaman nor Trump.

Back to the Rhema Word of God:  When the Lord quickens us to a particular Scripture that applies to our present day situation – then that particular Scripture is known as a “Rhema Word”.

And, those of us who God speaks to us through His Scriptures understand the importance and significance of a Rhema Word and know how important it is that we apply the truths of the Bible to our present circumstances.  God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow - just as Jesus said to Satan “It is Written” and the Apostles referred back to the Scriptures in the Old Testament that spoke to their present day situation - the Revelation of God speaks to our present day circumstances.

That is why the Apostle Paul tells us that the “Word of God” is part of the “Armor of God” and that we are to put on the armor of God to be able to stand against all the strategies of the devil.

Ephesians 6:17 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. NLT

When Satan tempted our Lord and Savior – Jesus said to Satan “It is Written” – and Satan departed.  Christ Jesus in his conflict with Satan and also with the Scribes and Pharisees set the example of how we too are to apply the Word of God to our present day situation.

And when the Rhema Word comes to pass then we can say the Rhema Word was a Prophetic Word as well as a Rhema Word.

And, that brings me back to the Rhema Word God gave me and that I documented via Email “Before” Joe Biden won the election that has now come to pass.

Again, on Friday, November 6, 2020, “Before” Joe Biden won the State of Pennsylvania, I sent myself an email to document that the Lord quickened me to Isaiah 22:22 and Revelation 3:7 with the understanding that whoever won the State of Pennsylvania would win the Presidency.  At the time I sent the email to myself Donald Trump was still ahead of Joe Biden.

I sent the email to myself at 6:32 a.m. and it wasn’t until 2 hours later at 8:50 a.m. that Biden took the lead by about 5,600 votes.  And, it wasn’t until 11:25 a.m. on Saturday, November 7 the day after I sent the email to myself that the Associated Press declared that Joe Biden had won the state of Pennsylvania and that his win in Pennsylvania was the state that put Joe Biden over the top.

The article goes on to read "Biden also carried Arizona, Wisconsin and Michigan on his path to the presidency, flipping states that Trump won in 2016, but it was Pennsylvania that put him over the top.  The state had been a must-win for the incumbent.

The Inquirer Echoed AP.

Pennsylvania is known as the “Keystone” State:  Joe Biden was a Senator from Delaware – however he was a native son of Pennsylvania.  And, given that the Message to the Church in Revelation 3:7 was to the Church in Philadelphia – it’s interesting that Pennsylvania is known as the “Keystone” State.  And, it was Joe Biden’s home state – the Keystone State of Pennsylvania that was the key that opened the door for Biden becoming the 46th president of the United States.

And, just as the Keystone State of Pennsylvania was the key state that “opened the door” for Joe Biden to win the Presidential election – it was also the state that closed the door for Trump.

And, as hard as Trump tried and tried to Open the Door that the Lord Closed – it was to no avail.

Trump Tried but he couldn’t Open the Door God Closed!

And, even though Trump was 100% confident that the United States Supreme Court would overturn Biden’s win in Pennsylvania and declare him the winner in Pennsylvania –on December 11, 2020 the United States Supreme Court refused to hear his case regarding the State of Pennsylvania – Shutting the Door on Trump’s attempts to overturn Biden’s win .

The NPR Headline read:  “Supreme Court Shuts Door on Trump Election Prospects”.

The Headline was Prophetic!  The headline is a reflection of Revelation 3:7 – the Door the Lord closed – Donald Trump was not able to open.

Even though the United States Supreme Court “Shut the Door” on Trump’s Election Prospects – his hopes and expectations – Trump continued to try and open the door.

Trial by Combat

President Trump filed over 60 law suits regarding the 2020 Presidential Election – all of which were dismissed.  And, when President Trump couldn’t persuade the Courts to declare him the winner of the 2020 Presidential Election and he couldn’t pressure Vice President Pence to abuse his Constitutional duties as the Presiding Officer and declare him as the winner - on January 6, 2021 at the urging of President Trump and Rudy Giuliani the rioters marched down Pennsylvania Avenue and took the Battle to the U. S. Capitol.

What?  The protesters were going to walk to the United States Capitol and settle their dispute via “Trial by Combat”.

Again, the definition of “Trial by Combat” means that if they couldn’t win in the Courts – then they would win by combat.

Just hours before Congress convened to certify the electoral votes, President Trump held a rally in front of the White House and urged his supporters to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue to the United States Capitol to disrupt the Congressional proceedings that were required by the Constitution to officially certify President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.  As they marched to the Capitol in the hopes of stopping the electoral votes from being officially certified - battle cries of “Fight for Trump! Fight for Trump!” could be heard.

Trump lied to his supporters and told them that the states, including Pennsylvania, wanted to recertify their votes, which was not true.  He further lied to his supporters and led them to believe that all Vice President Pence who was overseeing the certification of the electoral votes had to do was send the electoral votes back to the states for recertification and then he would win.  However, he didn’t tell his supporters that Pence did not have the Constitutional power to do that.

Instead he led his supporters to believe that it was because Vice President Pence wouldn’t send the electoral votes back to the states that he lost the election.  And, that’s why the protestors could be heard chanting “Find Pence – Hang Pence” after they stormed the United States Capitol.

Nearing the end of his hour long speech Trump urged his supporters to “Fight like hell” because if they didn’t they wouldn’t have a country anymore.  He then told his supporters to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue to the U.S. Capitol and that he would walk with them.  That too was a lie because as they walked to the Capitol – Trump was crafty enough to sneak back into the safety of the White House.

Pennsylvania Avenue:  Given the significance of Revelation 3:7 – Trump’s suggestion that the protestors walk from the White House that is located on “Pennsylvania Avenue” down “Pennsylvania Avenue” to the Capitol was not just happenstance.

At the beginning of Trump’s rally his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani spoke to Trump’s supporters and encouraged them to go to the U.S. Capitol and contest the election results by means of “Trial by Combat.”

And, Trump’s supporters did as Trump and Giuliani bid them:  they took the battle to the United States Capitol and fought like hell.

At the Urging of President Trump and Rudy Giuliani the rioters marched down Pennsylvania Avenue and took the Battle to the U. S. Capitol.  If they couldn’t win in the Courts – then they would win by combat – that is the meaning of “Trial by Combat”.

They marched down Pennsylvania Avenue to the U.S. Capitol where they broke through the barriers, and overwhelming the police, stormed the U.S. Capitol wreaking havoc throughout the Capitol Building.  They were heard chanting “Find Pence! Find Pence! Hang Pence! Hang Pence!” as they roamed the halls looking for Pence because President Trump led his supporters to believe that he lost the election because Pence would not send the electoral votes back to the states to be recertified.

Again, just seconds before the protestors breached the Senate Chamber the Police were able to lead Vice President Pence and the other Senators to a place of safety.

By Way of History:  To really understand the profound significance of “Trial by Combat” in the context of January 6, 2020 it is well worth the time to share the following before continuing with the other events that continue to unfold on a daily basis.  There is much more to that phrase then meets the eye.

In fact, many Confederates and Union soldiers believed that the American Civil War was a “Trial by Battle”.  If the Union and South could not settle their differences of opinion in the Courts concerning slavery then both the Union and the Confederates believed the only way the question of slavery would ever  be settled was “Trial by Combat”.

God's will for Biden to be the next President of the United States doesn't mean that Biden is a righteous man - because he isn'tBecause God’s sovereign will does not depend on the righteousness of man we know from time to time the Lord will raise up someone like Trump or Biden to change the direction of a country's government and execute His judgments upon the earth - after all, all governing authorities, whether it is Obama, Trump or Biden, they are ordained of the Lord (Romans 13).

Obviously, God can and does use the civil leaders He ordains to carry out His righteous purposes, even though they are not righteous themselves. For example, we know that God gave Pilate, the Roman governor (procurator) of Judea, the power and authority to crucify Jesus in order that the words Jesus spoke concerning the kind of death He was to die would be fulfilled. (John 18:32).  And, just as it was the case with Pilate, God’s sovereign will does not depend on the righteousness of whoever is elected as President of the United States.  We also know that it is in God’s timing and for His specific purposes that either a Barrack Hussein Obama, a Trump or a Biden is elected as President of the United States.

We need to keep in mind that until Christ returns to establish His "Righteous Government" - all other governments established by God (Romans 13) are "secular".

From the Scriptures the Lord quickened me too on the night of the election - Joe Biden's Presidency will prove to be a heavy burden for America and will usher in distressing times for America.  Foreign affairs as well as domestic affairs will not fare well under Biden's leadership.

Isaiah 33:1 and Habakkuk 2:8 speak of Joe Biden and his son Hunter who have plundered many nations.  Both have betrayed many others - and the time is near when they too will be betrayed.

Before leaving "Pennsylvania" - as a bit of trivia - Pennsylvania is known as the "Keystone State" because of its role in America's history.

·         Philadelphia is where George Washington became "Commander in Chief" of the Continental Army in 1775

·         It's where the Declaration of Independence was adopted the following year

·         It's were the flag of the United States was designed

·         and, where our founding fathers wrote and adopted the United States Constitution in 1787

·         Philadelphia was also the temporary capital of the United States from 1790 to 1800 while Washington, D.C. was being built

The Gibeonites:  And, it's not just Biden and his son who will reap what they have sown, it's because Obama and other government officials allowed those like Biden and his son to be as corrupt as they are - that we as a nation will reap from those sins as well.  The Scriptural account of the Gibeonites reveals that the sins of King Saul and his family, even after King Saul had died, can and did affect all the citizens of Israel.  Because of the sins of Saul's house, Israel was afflicted with a famine for three years and was only lifted after King David made amends with the Gibeonites - 2 Samuel 21.    Likewise, America will reap the sins of our Forefathers!

The point I want to make is that the sins of those in our government affects the nation as a whole.

The Confederates Believed the Civil War was a “Trial by Combat”

It is well worth noting that several of Trump’s supporters who took the “Trial by Combat” to the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 were pictured with raised Confederate Flags.  And, it is well worth noting that before January 6, 2021 the Confederate Flag had never been raised inside the United State Capitol.  Pause and think about that!

And, it is well worth nothing that the Confederates who carried the Confederate flag into the battles they fought so long ago – they too believed in “Trial by Combat.  According to the following letter written by Naval Secretary Stephen R. Mallory to President Johnson – the Confederates believed that the American Civil War was a Trial by Combat

When he wrote his letter Mallory was in jail and worried that he might be tried for treason Mallory wrote to President Johnson seeking mercy.

The following excerpt is from the book “The American Civil War as a Trial by Battle” by Cynthia Nicoletti published online by Cambridge University Press – February 15, 2010

Extract:  Confined alone in a cell in New York's Fort Lafayette in the heat of the summer of 1865, former Confederate naval secretary Stephen R. Mallory had little to do but reflect on the fate of the defeated Confederacy. Convinced that his life might be forfeit if th e United States government made good on its threat to try him for treason, Mallory composed a lengthy letter to President Andrew Johnson petitioning for a pardon and seeking to explain his views on the demise of the Confederacy and the fate of the states' right to secede from the Union. While Mallory stressed his opposition to disunion in 1861, on the grounds of its inexpediency, he admitted that he had placed loyalty to his state above his duty as a citizen of the United States. He had “regarded the commands of my state as decisive of my path of duty; and I followed where she led.” Nonetheless, Mallory went on to disclaim his belief in the principle of secession in very striking terms, describing the death of secession in the crucible of the Civil War as the result of a trial by battle. Mallory never specifically denied secession's constitutionality; instead, he told Johnson that because he “recognize[ed] the death [of the Confederacy] as the will of Almighty God, I regard and accept His dispensation as decisive of the questions of slavery and secession.” (emphasis added)

What?  The Confederates believed that the American Civil War was a Trial by Battle and that God would be the one to decide who the winner was.

The Confederates wholeheartedly believed the South would win the war via “Trial by Combat” meaning if they couldn’t settle their issues on slavery through the courts then they would settle their differences on the battlefield with God as their Judge.   In other words whoever won the war – then that’s whose side God was on.

In the letter written by Confederate Naval Secretary Stephen R. Mallory to President Johnson, Mallory described the Civil War as a “Trial by Battle” to describe the Fall of the Confederacy.  And, in his letter he explains that it was only after the Fall of the Confederacy that he realized that slavery in America was not according to God’s will.

The significance of this letter is that Mallory described the Civil War as a “Trial by Battle” – a Trial where God was the Judge.

And, all throughout history those who believed in settling their differences via “Trial by Battle” or “Trial by Combat” believed that if they couldn’t settle their differences in a Court of Law they would take their differences to the battlefield and let God decide who was in right standing.

In using the term “Trial by Battle” to describe the fall of the Confederacy – Mallory was referring back to an ancient method of how legal disputes were settled.  By choosing this particular method of proof, all parties placed their faith and fate in God’s hands, trusting that God would deliver victory to the righteous litigant.

In other words, Mallory believed that because the Confederacy lost – then it was because it was God’s Will that the Union win – that the Union’s cause was more righteous than the South’s cause.

Mallory went on to say given that it was the will of Almighty God that the Union won – then he accepted the fact that both slavery and secession were wrong.

From the letter written by Confederate Naval Secretary Stephen R. Mallory we know the Confederates were not only aware of Trial by Combat, however, they believed that the American Civil War was literally a Trial by Combat.

There is no doubt, that  Mallory as well as the Confederacy would have been aware that “Trial by Combat” was legal in Colonial America as well as the “Burr-Hamilton” Duel in 1804 when two of America’s Politicians settled their political differences via “Trial by Combat”.  Unfortunately, Hamilton did not survive the duel.

Like other Confederates, at the beginning of the war, Mallory wholeheatedly believed that God would take His wrath out on the North – hence the motto of “Deo Vindice” engraved on the Great Seal of the Confederacy which means “God will Avenge or God will Vindicate”.

The Confederates wholeheartedly believed that the South would be vindicated and that God would take His Vengeance out on the North who opposed slavery.

And, it’s obvious from Mallory’s letter that he believed that the Civil War was a “Holy War”.

Both the North and South Believed the Civil War was a “Holy War”

It is well worth noting that both the Union and the Confederates Believed the Civil War was a “Holy War”.  Both sides believed that God ordained the War and the victor would prove whose side God was on.

It is well worth noting that Religion was at the heart of the Civil War for both sides.

Even President Lincoln believed that he was a modern day Moses.  And, the slaves who cried out to the Lord to be delivered from bondage believed the Union victory was proof that God had heard their prayers.

The Confederates believed that that the Civil War was a holy war against the North’s fanatics and Abolitionist who refused to acknowledge the authority of the Bible or the Constitution of the United States.  Neither were true.

Needless to say, the South’s wartime belief that God would vindicate their cause via “Trial by Combat” on the Civil War battlefields had been unfulfilled.

Again, it is well worth noting that many Civil War Confederates really believed that the American Civil War was a Trial by Battle and that God would be the one to decide who the winner was.

And, that’s why the symbolism of the following two pictures of the Confederate Flag being raised in the halls of Congress on January 6, 2021 is so significant.  Until January 6, 2021 the Confederate Flag had never been raised in the halls of the United States Capitol.  Pause and think about that!

However, before I go into the symbolism of the above two pictures I want to include the following article about Union General Robert H. Milroy that I wrote and that was published by the Winchester Star.  The Significance of this particular article is that General Milroy was a man guided by his Christian beliefs and he wholeheartedly believed that God had chosen him as an instrument to eradicate slavery.

Like Confederate Mallory – Union General Milroy believed that God was using the Civil War to reveal his Will regarding Slavery.

The Holy War

And

“Trial by Combat”

Note, just like Confederate Naval Secretary Stephen Mallory - Union General Milroy felt that God was involved in the “Trial by Combat”.

The difference between the two -

Mallory believed slavery was according to God’s will – and  Milroy believed that God had chosen him as an instrument to eradicate slavery.

Needless to say – God was on Milroy’s side.

Back to the symbolism of the two men that have been identified as Father and Son walking through the United States Capitol Building with a Confederate Flag.

Never in the history of America has the Confederate Flag been raised in the halls of the United States Capitol until January 6, 2021.  Even when the American Civil War was raging - the Confederate Flag was never raised over or inside the U.S. Capitol.  Now, pause and think about that!

Just as Confederate Naval Secretary Stephen R. Mallory believed that the Civil War was a “Trial by Battle” – the two modern day Confederates that stormed the United State Capitol on January 6, 2021 – they too believed that they could settle the judicial dispute over the election by means of “Trial by Combat”.

The Fall of Trump’s Presidency:  Just as Confederate Naval Secretary Mallory used the term “Trial by Battle” to describe the fall of the Confederacy – the two modern day Confederates pictured above could use the term “Trial by Battle” or “Trial by Combat” to describe the fall of Trump’s Presidency.

Trump failed in his efforts to stop the Electoral Ballots from being certified.  At 3:40 a.m. on Thursday, January 7th all the Electoral Ballots had been officially certified and Vice President Mike Pence announced that President-elect Joe Biden had officially won the presidency.

BREAKING NEWS

The hearts of all men are in God's hand - so are the Words they Speak -

And without Realizing it –

when Rudy Giuliani called for “Trial by Combat” to Settle the Election

his Words were Prophetic

Whether Rudy Giuliani realized it or not when he called for “Trial by Combat” - in essence he was calling on God to settle the dispute over who won the 2020 Presidential Election.

John 11:49-52 reveals that just as the hearts of all men are in God's hand - so are the words they speak.

John 11:49-52 49 Caiaphas, who was high priest at that time, said, “You don’t know what you’re talking about! 50 You don’t realize that it’s better for you that one man should die for the people than for the whole nation to be destroyed.” 51 He did not say this on his own; as high priest at that time he was led to prophesy that Jesus would die for the entire nation. 52 And not only for that nation, but to bring together and unite all the children of God scattered around the world. NLT

John 11:49-52 reveals that just as the hearts of all men are in God's hand - so are the words they speak.  Giuliani probably didn’t give much thought to the multifaceted aspects of what “Trial by Combat” meant, especially the spiritual aspects.

However, unbeknown to Giuliani, he was actually prophesying what would come to pass when Trump’s supporters took the battle to the Capitol.

After Trump’s supporters stormed the United States Capitol on January 6 when Giuliani was asked to explain why he called for “Trial by Combat” to settle the election – he explained that it was just an innocent remark on his part and was certainly not a call to violence.  According to Giuliani he was simply making a reference to the popular documentary called “Game of Thrones” - which is interesting – because the “Game of Thrones” is all about violence.

Besides, apart from the Game of Thrones Rudy Giuliani would have been familiar with Trial by Combat from a legal perspective because during his time in Law School he would have been required to study the various laws of America from Colonial America on.  In fact, Trial by Combat is an entry in Legal Dictionaries and Encyclopedias.

More to the point:  Rudy Giuliani knew that “Trial by Combat meant Trial by Violence”.

Given that Giuliani made the connection between “Trial by Combat” and the “Game of Thrones” then he would have known that the players in the “Game of Thrones” left it up to the gods to determine the winner.  Giuliani may not have taken into account the true meaning of “Trial by Combat,” however, God can and does make corrupted men like Guiliani instruments to serve His own purposes - contrary to Giuliani’s own intentions.

And, all throughout history, including Colonial America, those who believed in settling their differences via “Trial by Battle” or “Trial by Combat” believed that if they couldn’t settle their differences in a Court of Law they would take their differences to the battlefield and let God decide who was in right standing

And, Whether he realized it or not – when Giuliani called for “Trial by Combat” to settle the Election - God did Intervene – God Decided that Joe Biden Won the Election:  A “Trial by Combat” is referring to a “Judicial Combat” – hence Giuliani’s suggestion that Trump’s supporters take their grievances to the U.S. Capitol where the Lawmakers had come together to certify the electoral votes.  Rudy Giuliani led Trump’s supporters to believe that they could settle the judicial dispute over the election by means of “Trial by Combat”.

And, without realizing it Trump, Giuliani and Trump’s supporters did settle the dispute over the election by means of “Trial by Combat” – just not in the way they thought.

“Trial by Combat” was founded on the ancient belief that God would give victory to the party who was in the right.

For example, 1 Samuel 17:45-47 is only one Scripture that reveals the Israelites were victorious in battle – only because God intervened on their behalf.

For example, King David was victorious over Goliath because the Battle belonged to the Lord.

1 Samuel 17:45-47 45 Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the LORD does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the LORD'S, and He will give you into our hands." NKJV

Now, with the understanding that God would give victory to the party who was in the right – then clearly Joe Biden and the Democratic Party were in the right. – because at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, January 7th all the Electoral Ballots had been officially certified and Vice President Mike Pence announced that President-elect Joe Biden had officially won the presidency.

However, in Due Time Joe Biden too will fall:  It was God's Will that Joe Biden was elected President.  However, it was not because of Biden's righteousness - because he is not a righteous man - far from it.  And, in the end like Trump - Joe Biden and his son Hunter will also Fall - because of their Corruption.  Joe Biden as strong as he is now "will be repaid with the same treachery" that he wreaked upon others.  It is only a matter of time.  Isaiah 33:1 and Habakkuk 2:8

By Way of HistoryTrial by Combat is familiar to most Americans from the documentary “Game of Thrones,” however, Trial by Combat was actually part of America’s legal system dating all the way back to Colonial America.  In fact, Trial by Combat was still legal in America when the United States first became a nation.   And, who could forget the duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr in 1804 when dueling in America was still legal.  Unfortunately, for Hamilton he lost the duel.

The Electoral Crises of 1800 almost led to a Constitutional Crises:  The Burr-Hamilton Duel is probably remembered because at the time, Aaron Burr was the sitting Vice President of the United States and his arch enemy Alexander Hamilton was the former Secretary of the Treasury.

And, of all things, the conflict between Burr and Hamilton started over the “Electoral College”.

Jefferson and Burr were tied in the race for President.  They both had the same number of Electoral Ballots.  The Electoral College was deadlocked in the election of 1800 and it was Hamilton’s maneuvering in the House of Representatives that caused Thomas Jefferson to be named president instead of Burr.  Hamilton favored Jefferson over Burr who he literally hated and was able to convince several Federalists to switch their support to Jefferson which led to Jefferson being elected as President.

And, the rest is history.  Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton settled their dispute over the election of 1800 via “Trial by Combat”.  And, Hamilton who was accused of trying to steal the election was the one killed in the “Trial by Combat”.

And, it comes as no surprise that many people compare President Trump to Alexander Hamilton.

And from the letter written by Confederate Naval Secretary Stephen R. Mallory to President Andrew Johnson we know the Confederates were not only aware of Trial by Combat, however, they believed that the American Civil War was literally a Trial by Combat.

The ancient method of “Trial by Combat” was founded on the belief that God would give victory to the litigant who was in the right.  All throughout history those who believed in settling their differences via “Trial by Battle” or “Trial by Combat” believed that if they couldn’t settle their differences in a Court of Law they would take their differences to the battlefield and let God decide who was in right standing.

Again, “Trial by Combat” was an ancient method of how legal disputes were settled.  By choosing this particular method of proof, all parties placed their faith and fate in God’s hands, trusting that God would deliver victory to the righteous litigant.  And, this is something that Giuliani would have studied about when he was in Law School.

On the other hand, the outworking from the “Trial by Combat” for President Trump and Rudy Giuliani who initiated the insurrection and the protestors who carried out Trump’s wishes has come as a total shock to them.

Neither could have imagined that on January 13, 2021 the House would pass a Resolution to “Impeach” President Trump for “Incitement of Insurrection” – with charges that Trump incited the riots on Capitol Hill.

BREAKING NEWS

House impeaches Trump for 'incitement of insurrection'

Wednesday, January 13, 2021CHED AGAIN

House votes to make Trump the first US president to be impeached twice

·         President Trump has been banned from Social Media – which is his lifeline

·         He has been censored by his own Republican Party

·         On January 13, 2021 the House Passed a Resolution to “Impeach” President Trump

·         Rudy Giuliani is being investigated by the New York Bar for misconduct

·         Scores of Trump’s supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol have not only been fired from their jobs – but many have also been arrested and face up to ten years in prison

Surely, by now, Trump should realize that he should not have tried to Open the Door the Lord Closed!

Surely, by now, Trump and Giuliani must Realize that God gave Biden the victory In the “Trail by Combat”

With the understanding that “Trial by Combat” means that God would give victory to the party who was in the right – then surely by now both Trump and Giuliani who encouraged Trump’s supporters to take the battle to the U. S. Capitol realize that it is not God’s Will for Trump to serve a second term in office.

After all, the state’s electoral votes had been certified and Vice President Pence announced that it was official that President elect Joe Bid had won the presidency – surely they realized that it was God’s Will that Joe Biden would serve as the next President of the United States – which meant that it was not God’s Will for Donald Trump to serve a second term.

After both the House and Senate rejected Trump loyalists’ challenges to Biden’s win in Pennsylvania - Congress was finally able to finish counting the electoral votes.  And shortly after 3:40 a.m. Thursday Vice President Pence declared Democrat President elect Joe Biden the winner of the presidential election.

What should have taken no longer than an hour for the joint house of Congress to count the electoral votes - Congress had to recess for nearly six hours after President Trump’s supporters stormed the United States Capitol and in the chaos leaving five people dead and sending the members of both the House and Senate fleeing for their lives.

After four hours the police were finally able to secure the Capitol building.  And, at the end of what turned out to be a violent and deadly day at the Capitol – Congress was able to reconvene and finish counting the Electoral Votes.   But even after the deadly chaos Trump loyalists still attempted to delay and overturn the will of the people in Pennsylvania who overwhelming voted for Biden by challenging Biden’s win in Pennsylvania – to no avail.

Even after Trump sent thousands of his supporters to the United States Capitol to stop Congress from fulfilling their Constitutional duties – he was unable to Open the Door God Closed for him and he was unable to Close the Door God had Opened for Biden.

Even though thousands of Trump supporters laid siege to the United States Capitol for over four hours and wreaked havoc throughout the halls of the Capitol – they couldn’t close the door that God had opened for Biden.

Even though the Senators and Congressmen were forced to go into hiding as the protesters roamed the halls and vandalized their offices – at the end of the day after the police and D.C. National guard were able to take back control of the United States Capitol – Congress was able to reconvene and certify Biden’s 2020 election win and declare him as the 46th President of the United States.

But even after all the havoc wreaked throughout the halls of the U. S. Capitol Building – when Congress was able to reconvene to certify the electoral votes – several Congressmen and Senators still challenged the legality of all states “Pennsylvania”. Needless to say, the House joined the Senate in rejecting their objection to Biden’s win in Pennsylvania.  It wasn’t just coincidence that Pennsylvania was the last state to be challenged.

President Trump was enraged.  As the rioting was going on Trump lashed out at Vice President Pence for not refusing to certify the electoral votes and send them back to the individual states.  And, it’s frightening that even after his supporters stormed the United States Capitol chanting “Find Pence” – “Hang Pence,” Trump via Twitter still lashed out at Pence even after the Police were able to stop the protesters.

Even though one of his supporters lay dead on the floor of the Capitol Trump would not send help to those Lawmakers who were crying out for him to send them help.  It was Vice President Pence who did what President Trump should have done – Pence took the initiative and called up the D.C. National Guard to come to their aid.

As Trump’s supporters wreaked havoc at the United States Capitol – President Trump watched the events on television as they were happening.  And, according to those who were with President Trump in the Oval Office and who encouraged him to send help before someone was hurt - they said that Trump couldn’t understand why everyone wasn’t as excited as he was with the takeover.

Trial by Combat”? – did Giuliani really believe that the Presidential Election would be overturned by violence?

How could Giuliani, with a clear conscience, mislead Trump’s supporters into believing that the Presidential Election could be overturned by violence?  Yet, he did!  Trump’s supporters used violence to overwhelm law enforcement officials to unlawfully force their way into the United States Capitol.  Once inside the Capitol building, unfortunately, one police officer who was struck in the head by a protestor while defending the Lawmakers who were trapped inside the United States Capitol died.

Once inside the halls of the United States Capitol protestors were able to breach the offices of our Lawmakers including the Senate Chambers where several different protesters were photographed sitting in Vice President Mike Pence’s seat where he stood as he presided over the certification of the electoral votes.  Thankfully, Security was able to lead the Vice President to safety just moments before the Protestors were able to breach the door to the Senate Chamber.

However, what is more alarming is that once inside the halls of the United States Capitol, chants of “Pence” “Pence” we want to hang “Pence” can be heard ringing throughout the Capitol.  I shudder to think what would have happened if Security had not been able to lead Vice President Pence to safety before the protestors found their way into the Senate Chambers.  I say that because the protestors had actually erected gallows near the Capitol building on Wednesday – and their chants of wanting to hang Pence left no doubt as to who was meant to hang from their gallows.

You can see the United States Capitol behind the gallows erected by the protestors.  And, according to a Reuters' photographer covering the insurrection, he heard at least three different Trump supporters talk about hanging Vice President Mike Pence from a tree as a 'traitor.'

Trump’s supporters wanted to hang Mike Pence from a tree because President Trump led them to believe that Pence was a traitor because he wouldn’t declare Trump as President.  However, President Trump knew that Vice President Pence didn’t have the power or authority to override the will of the people – hence “Trial by Combat”.  On the other hand, Trump’s supporters didn’t know that Trump had misled them.  They really believed Trump that Vice President Pence had the power to override the will of the people and declare Trump as President.

American’s Politicians never thought it possible that thousands of people would actually storm the United States Capitol.  In the four hours that President Trump’s supporters occupied the United States Capitol invading both the House and Senate chambers, forcing members of Congress into hiding, Trump’s supporters, who were armed with guns, attacked the U.S. Capitol Police with metal pipes and chemical irritants.

The Four Hour Insurrection is a Foreshadowing of what is Inevitable – Another American Civil War:  Who would ever have thought the President of the United States would encourage an armed Insurrection against America.

Who would ever have thought that thousands of rioters would have or could have breached the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021?  One can’t help but recall the year 1814 when the British breached the U.S. Capitol setting the Capitol on fire in the War of 1812.  The only difference between the events of 1814 and what transpired on January 6, 2021 in the nation’s capital is the former involved a foreign enemy, while the latter was prompted by the sitting president of the United States as part of an effort to overturn a free and fair election that he lost!

The world was shocked!  The takeover of the Capitol was not just a riot – it is the

foreshadowing of what is inevitable – another American Civil War.

Modern Day Confederates Storm the US Capitol

The symbolism of the following two pictures of two “Modern Day Confederates” who stormed the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 standing between a portrait of Charles Sumner and John C. Calhoun with their Confederate Flags is profound.

The oil painting to the right is a portrait of Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumner, an ardent abolitionist and to the left is an oil painting of South Carolina Senator John C. Calhoun, a defender of slavery and who also held the office of Vice President.

Even during the Civil War the Confederate battle flag was never raised in the halls of the United States Capitol.

In essence those who carry the Confederate Flag are saying “We are against the United States of America – we are against the Union and everything it stands for.

During the five years of the Civil War the Confederate Flag never entered the United States Capitol.  Yet, on January 6, 2021 several of Trump’s supporters roamed the halls of the United States Capitol with raised Confederate Battle Flags when they seized the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Pause and think about that!

And, Stop and think about the symbolism of the portrait of Charles Sumner, an abolitionist and the portrait of John C. Calhoun, a defender of slavery.  Both portraits are of two Civil War era men, each opposed to the ideology of the other.

And, the Battle between these two Civil War men is a reflection of the raging battle here in America at the present time.

Pause and think about that!

The two protestors carrying a Civil War Flag is a “Foreshadowing” of the Civil War that is coming to America.  The portraits on either side of the protestor – one portrait of a defender of slavery – the other portrait of an ardent abolitionist captures the division that is happening in America today.

In May of 1856, like the Senators and Congressmen who hid under chairs and tables on January 6, 2021, Senator Sumner hid under his desk on the Senate floor to escape the beating of pro-slavery Representative Preston Brooks – a beating that almost killed him.

A picture of Americans hiding as Trump’s supporters roamed the halls of the U.S. Capitol looking for Vice President Pence and our Senators and Congressman.  Until they were able to leave the chamber to a place of safety America’s representatives hid under desks.

On May 22, 1856, two days after Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumner delivered an avid anti-slavery speech he was viciously attacked by Preston Brooks a pro-slavery Democrat from South Carolina.  Brooks nearly beat Senator Sumner to death with his heavy walking cane.  Interestingly, depending upon the account, Senator Sumner either hid under his desk or was  trapped under his desk.  When Sumner was finally able to free himself from under his desk Brooks continued beating Sumner over the head almost killing him.  And, the representatives who tried to come to Sumner’s defense where stopped by other pro-slavery representatives.  Finally, several members were finally able to intervene and prevent Brooks from killing Sumner.

The following picture says it all:  Inside the House Chamber the Security have their guns pointed to the man looking in through the broken glass in the door of the House.

This is a photo of Capitol police in the House Chamber with guns drawn in a standoff with pro-Trump rioters.

In this photo you can actually see the face of one of the protesters through the glass window they had broken.

We are a nation divided and a house divided cannot stand.  America is on the brink of another civil war.

Isaiah 22:  In the above referenced Email that I sent to myself “before” Biden took the lead in Pennsylvania I referenced Isaiah 22:22 was well as Revelation 3 – both speak of the “Keys of David” and that what God Closes and Opens – no man can Open or Close.

And, if you read all of Isaiah 22 as a “Rhema Word” you will see the similarities between the uprising on January 6, 2021 and the uprising in Isaiah 22.

As you read Isaiah 22 the point I want to make is that when the man whose position of power was taken away and given to another it was while an uprising was going on.  And, that’s exactly what happen on January 6, 2021 when Congress certified the electoral votes making it official that Joe Biden was the next President of the United States - the U.S. Capitol had come under siege.

In his vision the Prophet Isaiah sees the people as they hurry about in great excitement even climbing to reach the roof tops of the city where they watch Sennacherib’s army gathering for battle.  Isaiah was somewhat taken aback.  As the leading citizens had fled to a place of safety and the enemy was at the very door he looked but could not find those who should have humbled themselves before God.  Quite the contrary, even with all the commotion and danger - the tumultuous city was a joyous city.

Likewise, Trump’s supporters were climbing fences and walls and whatever they could climb to break into the United States Capitol.  And, no doubt they were watching as Trump’s army gathered for “Trial by Combat” at the United States Capitol.  Like the Prophet Isaiah, many of us were taken aback to know that our Congressmen and Senators had to flee to a place of safety because as we saw from the images, the enemy was at their very door.  And, according to those who were with President Trump at the White House while the horror of the uprising was unfolding – like those Isaiah spoke of in verse 13 – instead of being alarmed, they said Trump seemed excited – he seemed to be filled with joy that so many of his supporters would actually go to battle for him in such a way.  Unbelievable!

Then in verses 15-25 the Lord tells the Prophet Isaiah to go and ask Shebna, (Trump) who was over the house, and ask him who he thought he was and what was he doing here, building a beautiful tomb for himself – a monument high up in the rock?

Many were asking Trump who he thought he was and what was he doing sending his supporters to the United States Capitol to disrupt the certification of the electoral votes.  Then the Prophet Isaiah asks Shebna (Trump) if he was building a beautiful tomb for himself.  And, as a rhema Word, if Trump is convicted by the Senate – he probably won’t be able to lie in state in the Rotunda of the Capitol when he dies as many Presidents do.

The tomb in the sub-basement of the U.S. Capitol, which used to house Lincoln’s Bier before it was moved to the Capitol’s Visitor Center, is a type of the beautiful tomb and monument that the Prophet Isaiah speaks of in verses 15-16.  And, the Coffins of those who lie in state at the U. S. Capitol are placed on the Bier that Lincoln’s Coffin was placed on.

The Tomb at the U.S. Capitol was where President Washington’s coffin was to rest.  However, his family made the decision to bury Washington at his beloved plantation.

Isaiah tells him what a disgrace he is to his master.  Isaiah informs Shebna that the Lord will “drive him out of office” – the Lord will pull him down from his high position and give his position to someone else.  The Lord would give Shebna’s royal robes, his title and his authority to another.  The Lord would give the man replacing him the “Key to the House of David” – the highest position in the royal court.  And, what door he opens no one will be able to close and what doors he closes no one will be able to open.

As a Rhema Word – these verses speak of “Trump being driven out of office” – pulled down from his high position of the Presidency and the Presidency being given to Joe Biden.  Trump’s royal robes, his title of President and his authority have all been given to Joe Biden.

And, even though the Lord will give Joe Biden a place of honor – the Presidency - the highest position in the land – like Trump – Joe Biden he too will fall!

January 2021 - In Conclusion

President Joe Biden

Was Sworn in as the 46th President of the United States of America

However, there was no Peaceful Transfer of Power.

The symbolism of Trump’s presence at Biden’s inauguration was important because it would have reinforced America’s idea of a peaceful transition of power to the world.

Donald Trump is the first president in modern day history to forego the swearing in of his successor on Inauguration Day.  And, in doing so, the symbolism is unmistakable.  It’s Trump’s way of continuing to say that the 2020 Presidential Election was stolen from him and that Biden’s Presidency is not legitimate.

Trump is keeping his word to his base:  he will never concede!

Trump is well aware of the symbolism of the presence of the out-going and past Presidents gathered together on the platform alongside Joe Biden as he takes the Oath of Office on January 20, 2021.

Trump is well aware of the fact that Inauguration Day at the United States Capitol is considered to be one of the most solemn symbols of the Peaceful Transfer of Power with the outgoing president and the former presidents whether it be a Democrat or Republican sitting on the platform alongside the incoming administration.

Trump may have been banned from Social Media – but his absence on Inauguration Day will speak volumes to his base.

The Symbolism of the peaceful transfer of presidential power from one administration to the next is a characteristic – an attribute of American Democracy.  And, it’s this symbolism that is supposed to make every nation in the world want their government to be styled after America’s government.

However, Trump’s absence signifies that even in a Democracy an election can be stolen.  That even in a democracy the President can be an Illegitimate President.

Democracy?  The whole world was shocked as they witnessed Trump’s supporters walk to the United States Capitol and “Fight like Hell” via a “Trial by Combat”.  The world watched as Trump’s protestors interrupted the Electoral Ballots from being certified and forcing our Lawmakers into hiding while they did what seemed right in their own eyes – which was to wreak  havoc throughout the halls of the United States Capitol.  And, the world leaders are asking is this what Democracy is all about. - is it about the citizens of a nation and its President to do what seems right in their own eyes even when it’s not right?

Democracy in the Old Testament – Doing what is Right in one’s own eyes

When Trump’s protestors stormed the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 and Trump refused to attend the Inauguration of Joe Biden on January 20, 2021 – well what would one expect from a Democracy when, in theory, a Democracy allows everyone to do what is right in their own eyes?

Democracy in the Old Testament

The phrase, “every man did what was right in his own eyes” in Judges 17:6 and Judges 21:25 was not meant as a compliment.  And, “every man did what was right in his own eyes” was a foreshadowing of nations that have a Democratic form of Government.

In Biblical times doing what was right in their own eyes may not have been a compliment – but it certainly is worthy of praise here in America.

Our politicians ask what nation other than America is worthy of greater praise than our nation that allows complete freedom to act in a way that seems fit to them?  After all, isn’t that the description of the ideal society?

It is a well known fact that our Founding Fathers were fascinated with the ancient forms of government – hence the roots of American Democracy can be traced back to ancient Greece.  The problem is that Greece’s Democracy was not a Righteous form of government.

Even though America is all about Democracy - according to the Constitution - America’s government is a “Republic” – not a Democracy.  They are similar, but they are not one and the same.  A republic is a limited government with a constitution.  On the other hand, a democracy is not based on a constitution – it is based on the will of the people which means that they can do what is right in their own hands.

Whether it be a Republic or Democracy – if either was according to God’s Will – then America would not be in the mess that we are in today.

The point is this:  until Christ Jesus returns and establishes “His Kingdom” – there will be no perfect government here on earth!

Back to Donald Trump:  It was because of his pride and arrogance that President Trump refused to attend Joe Biden’s Inauguration.  It was because of his pride and arrogance that President Trump refused to accept defeat.

Psalm 36 says it best.  I believe that Trump is so arrogant that he can’t even detect or hate his own sins.

Psalm 36:1-4 1 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, There is no fear of God before his eyes. 2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, That his iniquity will not be found out and be hated. 3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: He hath ceased to be wise and to do good. 4 He deviseth iniquity upon his bed; He setteth himself in a way that is not good; He abhorreth not evil. KJV

By choosing not to attend the Inauguration of his political rival Joe Biden – in essence – Trump declined to participate in the symbolic transfer of power from one Commander in Chief to the next.

Like President Andrew Johnson – so it was with President Trump.

152 years ago President Andrew Johnson

Refused

To attend the Inauguration of Ulysses S. Grant

President Johnson was the last out-going President who refused to attend the Inauguration of the in-coming President.

And, after 152 years – that “label” now goes to President Donald Trump who refused to attend the Inauguration of Joe Biden on January 20, 2021.

Like President Andrew Johnson who was impeached by the House – President Trump is now facing Impeachment for a historical second time.  The only difference between Johnson and Trump is that Johnson left the White House knowing that it was only by a single vote in the Senate that he was not convicted.  On the other hand, when President Trump left the White House on January 20, 2021 he is still facing Impeachment.

After leaving the Office of the Presidency, Andrew Johnson returned to Washington as a Senator from the State of Tennessee and he saw that as a vindication of being impeached by the House and losing the Presidential election to Grant.

Like Johnson – it’s obvious that Trump’s goal is to return to politics in some form.  In his farewell speech on the morning of January 20, 2021 President Trump told those in attendance that “We will be back in some form."

And, that is one of the main reasons that the Democrats want to carry through on their second Impeachment of Donald Trump - to ensure that he will never be able to hold a public office ever again.

And, there is more:  Andrew Johnson, who owned slaves, chose to put the Union over his beliefs that slavery was according to God’s will.  Andrew Johnson was pro-slavery but felt the only way to end the Civil War was to abolish slavery.  And, being the only Democrat Southern Senator to remain loyal to the Union after his state of Tennessee seceded, Andrew Johnson became a “Political Asset” to President Lincoln, a Republican.

Andrew Johnson had served only six weeks as vice President when Lincoln was assassinated.  And, as the new President - Johnson issued pardons to former Confederate leaders.  And, under his Administration, Confederate states were allowed to return to the Union only on terms that they would protect the rights of the freedmen

However, history bears witness that it was the newly formed government under President Andrew Johnson that enacted the “Black Codes” that were intended to regulate and restrict the activities of the newly freed slaves, including any and all political rights.  And, when President Johnson opposed granting political rights to the freed slaves – needless to say - the racist Southerners looked to Johnson as a defender of the “Lost Cause”.

In February of 1866 when Johnson vetoed the “Freedmen’s Bureau Bill” it was obvious to everyone that even though Johnson felt that the only way to end the civil war was to abolish slavery – he was by no means going to pass bills that would allow the ex-slaves to live in freedom.

Johnson refused to support any Amendment to the Constitution that gave ex-slaves the Right to Vote.  That amendment was passed into law by Ulysses S. Grant.

The South’s “Black Codes” of 1865-66:  After the United States Civil War, state governments that had been part of the Confederacy tried to limit the freedom of ex-slaves by passing “Black Codes”.  Black Codes were restrictive laws designed to limit the freedom of the newly freed slaves.  It was just slavery by another name.

In 1865 and 1866, as Johnson announced the end of Reconstruction, southern states began to pass a series of state laws that were discriminatory in nature including state laws known as “Black Codes”.  Black Codes were just another name for slavery.

Racial Slavery:  These Discriminatory laws varied in both substance and ruthlessness from state to state.  However, the goal of these heartless laws remained the same:  to maintain the social and economic structure of the south – a way of life the south was unwilling to let go of – until they were forced to.  Slavery had been abolished – but not “Racial Slavery”

The passing of Black Codes left no doubt that the former breakaway Confederate states intended to maintain the ideology of the “Lost Cause” - white supremacy - at all costs.

Just like the Black Codes and Jim Crow Laws – the Invisible shackles of Slavery still Exist here in America.

2 Peter 2:3 3 And in covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose sentence now from of old lingereth not, and their destruction slumbereth not. ASV

In the context of 2 Peter 2:3 the phrase to "Make Merchandise of you" is used in the sense of "making a profit out of people or things" for no other reason than their own selfish gain.

Since Satan could no longer “make merchandise” of the African Americans with the visible shackles of slavery, his strategy was to make merchandise of them with the invisible shackles of feigned words or man-made laws of segregation laws.

Visible shackles: “If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.” (Deuteronomy 24:7, KJV, emphasis added)

The "Invisible Shackles" of Slavery:  Both the Black Codes and Jim Crow Laws were the "Invisible Shackles" of Slavery.  Again, they were just Slavery by another name.

The roots of Jim Crow laws were the Black Codes that were passed as early as 1865 designed to legally control where the now free African slaves could travel, live, work and even control how much they could be paid for their work.  It was the south's way of legally enslaving those who had just been set free from slavery.

Those who passed and enforced these laws were lost to all virtue and morality - they brought shame upon themselves and upon America as a whole.  They were a disgrace to humanity and to America.  And, shame on America for allowing such disgraceful laws to be passed.

Worse - they were a tool of Satan.

Jim Crow laws were state and local laws passed by lawmakers in the former Confederate States of America that enforced racial segregation.  Jim Crow laws were designed to deprive the former slaves of their new found liberty - in essence to deprive them of their freedom - to deprive them of their very lives.  Black Codes and Jim Crow laws were designed to deprive those just set free of slavery of their intellect, their affections, their right to choose, and their right to have a life.

And, Jim Crow Laws were designed to publicly humiliate African Americans.  In time, Jim Crow laws were abolished - however the effects of the Jim Crow laws can still be felt.  For example, how could anyone ever forget the video of George Floyd - a victim of racial bias in law enforcement?

And, who can forget the day when Trump bid his supporters to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue to the United States Capitol and “Fight like Hell” via “Trial by Combat”.  The World – not just Americans will always remember that as his supporters were “Fighting like Hell” and for the first time in America’s history the Confederate Flag was raised in the halls of the United States Capitol.

Pause and think about that!

How could anyone deny that our Nation’s Past does not have a Bearing on Present Day Racism in America?  How could anyone deny that today’s Racism was Shaped by America’s Forebears.

And, for those that believe otherwise, I will let the following two pictures one of a “Father” and the other of “His Son” both carrying the Confederate Flag through the halls of the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 speak for themselves.

A Prophecy

President Trump was a Type of Jehu

At the time I sent the following email to myself it was months before Trump even won the Republican nomination.  At that time most people didn't even believe that Donald Trump would last long on the campaign trail, let alone win the Republican Nomination for President.  At the time I sent the email to myself, as of January 14, 2016, Donald Trump was still competing against seven other contenders for the Republican Nomination:  Rand Paul, Chris Christie, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush and John Kasich.

The following is page 1 of the above mentioned EMAIL that mirrors the same EMAIL that I sent to my Jewish friends in Israel as well as others in America in 2016.  The reason I send myself a copy of what I send others is becaue I don’t want to foreward a copy with other people’s contact information.

This email documents that the Lord gave me the understanding that His will was that Trump would be America's next president.  Hillary Clinton and those around the world were shocked that Trump won - but those of us who listen to the voice of the Lord - we were not.

In the email I explain that one of the things that God called Jehu (Trump) to do was to "Undo" what Ahab and Jezebel had done or hadn't done according to God's will for Israel (for example, Trump moved the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem).  And, after Trump was elected President - Israel has commented that they know of no better friend than Trump!

The Lord gave me the understanding that as President - Trump would move the US Embassy to Jerusalem - and one of the first places I went to in the same year the US Embassy was moved to Jerusalem was the US Embassy - and I cannot tell you how grateful the Israeli's are!

And, that’s why I believed God delivered Trump from the bed of COVID - because he Blessed Israel.

Yes, Trump Blessed Israel – however that didn’t give Trump the grace to misuse Christianity to help him further his own agenda – bringing Reproach to the Gospel of Jesus Chirst.

The following is page 1 of the above mentioned email.

In the EMAIL I wrote that God’s soverign Will does not depend on the righteousness of man and that from time to time the Lord will raise up someone like Jehu to change the direection of a nation’s  government to execute His judgments upon the earth.  That God can and does use the civil leaders He ordains to carry out His righteous purposes, even though the person is not righteous.  I went on to explain that God gave Pilate, the Roman governor (procurator) of Judea the power and authority to crucify Jesus in order that the words Jesus spoke concerning the kind of death He was to die would be fulfilleed (John 18:32).  And, just as it was with Pilate – God’s sovereign will does not depend on the righteousness of whoever is elected as Presdient of the United States.

In the next to last paragraph I wrote that Trump’s heart would not be right with God and because of that Trump would advance himself and his agenda rather than give God the glory.  I went on to write that what that looked like remained to be seen.

And, now we know what that looks like.

The Lord Blessed Trump when he had COVID – however that didn’t give Trump the grace to sin – as the Apostle James wrote it’s not right to Bless God and then curse those who are made in the image of God.  It’s not right for someone to use words that will lead to an Insurrection of the United States Capitol.

Following is a copy of page 1 of the above mentioned Email.

Note in the next to last paragraph of this email that I point out that Trump’s heart is not right and that he would advance himself and his agenda rather than give God the glory – and what that looked like remained to be seen.  Well, we now know what that looks like.  Just consider Trump’s actions after the 2020 November Presidential Elections

Trump used Christianity to advance his own agenda.  He praised God and with the same mouth he cursed man who is made in God’s image.  And the Apostle James writes in the Book of James that this is not right!  And, that is part of the reason “WHY” Trump lost the 2020 Presidential Election.

Jerusalem, Israel

When in Israel, the Jewish people I keep in contact with have told me that they believed Trump was good for Israel, however, they asked the question – but if he is a Christian, why does he act in the way he does?

The only way I could explain his behavior was to say that there are “Secular Christians” who behave as non-believers.  I explained that a Secular Christian acts in a way that is opposite of a Christian who is led by the Holy Spirit.  And, I explained that many who say Lord, Lord do not actually know the Lord – they just use Christianity to further their own agenda.

I reminded them of the Email that I sent to them in 2016, even before Trump had won the nomination, that God had called Presdient Trump as a “type of Jehu,” however, Trump’s heart would not be right with God – what that looked like remained to be seen.

I reminded them that in the EMAIL I sent them that I also explained that God’s soverign will does not depend on the righteousness of man and that from time to time the Lord will raise up someone like Jehu to change the direction of a country’s government to execute His judgments upon the earth.  God can and does use the civil leaders He ordains to carry out His righteous purposes, even though the person is not righteous.

I’m very thankful that I sent that EMAIL to them because otherwise it would really be difficult to expalin to those in Israel what has just transpired here in America concerning the 2020 election.

However, now I find myself in the position of explaining to my friends in Israel why some Christians here in America have compared Trump, a man who has no moral compass, to the “King of Israel” as well as Christ Jesus.

Which brings me to another reason the Lord is judging Trump.  Trump’s Holy War and his “Messianic Complex” that brought “Reproach to the Gospel of Jesus Christ”.  I don’t know how any Christian can deny that the January 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol did not bring reporach to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Yes, a Messianic Complex.  Just read the following tweet posted by Trump that speaks of the “Idolatry” that many Christians have of Trump!

What?  Not only did Root compare Trump to the King of Israel – which to the Jews is a reference to the Messiah they are still waiting for and to the Christians - King of Jews is a reference to Christ Jesus – but Trump embraced the idea that he’s like the “Second Coming of God” – another reference to Christ Jesus.  And, instead of correcting Wayne Allyn Root – Trump ends his tweet with “Wow”!

Trump not only let others misrepresent the Gospel of Jesus Christ – Trump encouraged it - to advance his own agenda.

Merchandising the Gospel of Jesus Christ:  What?  Christian Ministries were selling a “Trump/Cyrus Prayer Coin” for $45.00?  What?  The Prophets claimed that the coin could be used as a point of contact beteen Christians and God as they pray for the re-election of Trump.

What?  Christians including the Prophets have turned God’s House into a “Den of Thieves”.

Matthew 21:12-13 12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.' " NKJV

And, the list goes on and on.  There is so much more.

Trump’s Holy War

By definition – a Trial by Combat is a Holy War.  And, given the above, we should not be surprised that Trump was under the self-deception that as God’s anointed he could do no wrong in God’s eyes.  Hence – a Trial by Combat.

On January 6, 2021 Trump urged Christians to “Fight like Hell” via “Trial by Combat” – hence Trump’s Holy War

Both the Christians and many Christian Prophets, whether they realize it or not, were the driving force that provided Trump with the religious motivation to “Fight like Hell” via “Trial by Combat” to overturn the election.

Prophecies played a unique role in many of the decisions Trump made.  Told by the Prophetic that he was God’s Cyrus, and that he was going to usher in the “Kingdom of God” only  emboldened Trump.  I believe Trump had a “Dare Me” spirit operating through him when he encouraged his supporters to walk to the Capitol and fight like hell.  Trump was daring Congress and everyone opposing him to just try.

The Prophetic Words also played a role in the lives of those Christians who justified their decision to “Fight like Hell” via “Trial by Combat” who either encouraged or actually stormed the U.S. Capitol to overturn the election by storming the Capitol.

Many Christians as well as the Prophets kept telling Trump not to give up – that God was going to interve and do something miraclous on his behalf – that God had anointed him for a time like this.  Many Christians believed that God was going to use Trump to usher in the “Kingdom of God”.  However, Trump’s life was so counter to that.  He had no moral compass!

Yet, because of words from both the Prophetic and Christian Community – Trump developed a Messianic Complex.  Again, just read the following Tweet from Trump dated August 2019.

It’s arrogance to believe that Trump or any other secular leader will usher in the Kingdom of God.  When Trump, the Prophets, and Christians go back to God’s Word then the Lord will reveal to them what will and what will not usher in the Kingdom of God – and it’s not a President of the United States!  America is not even mentioned in the Bible!

Trump misused Christianity as a Tool to Advance his own Kingdom

not the Kingdom of God

And in doing so – Trump brought Reproach to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Not only did the Christians encourage Trump not to give up, we also know from the vidotapes taken inside the Capitol that many Christians were willing to breach the United States Capitol and “Fight like Hell” via “Trial by Combat” for him.

It was the Christians who led Trump to believe he was God’s anointed – and he believed he was going to usher in God’s Kingdom(?).

Trump was ordained of the Lord – however, Romans 13 reveals that “ALL” governments are ordained of the Lord.  It’s not dependent on whether we like the president or not.  And, it certainly doesn’t depend on their righteousness.  Until Christ comes back and established His Righteous Kingdom – there will be no righteous kingdom here on earth.

There is no doubt that Trump was elected as President according to God’s Will

And, there is no doubt that Biden was elected as President according to God’s Will

And, there is no doubt that Obama was elected as President according to God’s Will

Those Christians who believed that God was using Trump to protect Christianity – well both their actions and those of Trump say otherwise – they have “Brought Reproach to the Gospel of Jesus Christ” worldwide

And, this is what the world saw:  They saw a Shaman leading Christians in prayer.

What?  A Shaman praying in the Name of Jesus?

It was in the Name of Jesus that a Shaman led Christians in Prayer after storming the Senate Chamber!  This particular man – a Shaman – is the most prominent face of those who wreaked havoc at the Capitol.  More than any other individual it is the image of the Shaman that is the most prominent image worldwide.

I have seen the video of the above Shaman as he led those standing alongside him in prayer – in the Name of Jesus.  The video shows Trump’s followers with lifted hands praising God after storming the Senate Chamber in definace of police officers.  One protester, as he sat in Vice President’s Pence’s seat, shouted “Jesus Christ, we invoke your name, Amen!”  I need not say more.

What message does that send thoughtout the world!  Do they see Christians as Terrorists?

Yes, Christian leaders condemned the attacks.  However, the damage has been done.  Those images are here to stay.  And, Trump’s words the moring of January 6, 2021 will be played over and over by the Democrats who are now determined to impeach him.

There is no doubt that God used Trump – however, God also used Pilate to bring about His will.  Because God’s sovereign will does not depend on the righteousness of man, we know from time to time the Lord will raise up someone like Trump or Biden to change the direction of a country's government and execute His judgments upon the earth - after all, all governing authorities, whether it is Obama, Trump or Biden, they are ordained of the Lord (Romans 13).

We also know that it is in God’s timing and for His specific purposes that either a Barrack Hussein Obama, or a Trump, or a Biden is elected as President of the United States.

We need to keep in mind that until Christ returns to establish His "Righteous Government" - all other governments established by God (Romans 13) are "secular" and they are all ordained of the Lord.

More to the Point:  Politicians were elected as “Secular” leaders – they were not elected as our “Religious” Leaders!

After breaching the United States Capitol - the Christians who “Fought like Hell” via “Trial by Combat” were caught on videotape praying and praising God throughout the Capitol building.  They “Fought like Hell” for what they were led to believe was a rightous cause.  But at the end of the day it was obvious that God was not on Trump’s side nor on their side.

I was shocked!  After Trump was not sworn in as President of the United States on January 20,2021 – those who prophesied that God would even intervene on January 20 – when God didn’t - many of them blamed it on the demonic or this and that.  However, a real prophet knows that’s not how prophecy works!

Yet, many are still saying that the election was stolen from Trump – and that Biden’s presidency is illegitimate.

What?  Romans 13 reveals that “ALL” governments are ordained of God.  So how can Biden’s Presdiencey be illegitimate?  Can Satan curse what God has blessed?  Can the Gates of Hell prevail and steal a presidency from the man that God intended to be President?

There is no proof that the election was stolen – but even if it was – it doesn’t matter!

If the election was stolen from Trump then it was stolen because God allowed it to be stolen – it was stolen because it was God’s will for Biden to be President!

God’s ways and thoughts are not our ways and thoughts – Isaiah 55:8

It was the “Roman Government” ordained by God that gave the order for Christ to be Crucified – because it was God’s Will for Jesus, an innocent man, to be executed.

John 19:11 Jesus answered, “You would have no power over Me if it were not given to you from above.  Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.”

If the election was stolen from Trump then God will hold those responsible accountable.  But it still remains that God allowed it and whether Biden stole the Presidency or not – it still was according to God’s Will.

If it was God’s Will for Trump to be elected President – then the Gates of Hell would not have been able to stop God’s Will – Period!

God ordained “All” governments – not just Trump’s – Romans 13 and He has Ordained Biden’s Presidency.

The Prophets are asking, Now What?  It’s understandable that many within the Prophetic are asking “Now What”.  And, that’s exactly what the Lord is seeking.

The Spiritual Aspects of the Coronavirus

Isaiah 26:20 20 Come, My people, enter your chambers,

And shut your doors behind you;

Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment,

Until the indignation is past.  NKJV

We know that the Lord will use those things in the natural to convey a spiritual truth.  So, it is with the Coronavirus that has both businesses and people entering their homes, shutting the doors behind them and hiding themselves inside their homes for a time.

In reading all of Isaiah 26 it’s obvious why the Lord instructed people to hide in their homes for a time.  Because it was at this point in time that the Lord wanted to bring people into correction.

And, because God’s Word is as relevant today as it was when the Scriptures were written many of us are seeking the Lord as to what that lesson is and how should we respond?

In Isaiah 26:20-21 the prophet Isaiah told the people to 20 Go home, my people, and lock your doorsHide yourselves for a little while until the LORD’s anger has passed. 21 Look! The L-RD is coming from heaven to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will no longer hide those who have been killed. They will be brought out for all to see.

Those Scriptures became a living word when the Governor of Virginia where I live issued a "Temporary Stay at Home Order".

And, in verses 9-10 the Prophet Isaiah tells us that the intention of afflictions is to teach righteousness.  Yet, the same verses reveal that people will respond to God's judgments in two very different ways.  Some people will "make the necessary corrections in their lives" and some people will never see the evil of the sin in their lives! And this is exactly what I am seeing here in America.  And, that’s what I am seeing in the Prophetic.

Isaiah 26:8-10 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Jehovah, have we waited for thee; the desire of [our] soul is to thy name, and to thy memorial. With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me I seek thee earlyfor when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness10 If favour be shewn to the wickedhe doth not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness he dealeth unjustly, and beholdeth not the majesty of Jehovah.

The coronavirus should cause every man and woman on the face of this earth to seek the face of God to learn what is right.  In my prayers I cry out to the Lord to have mercy on "All" nations as well as America.  And, my prayer for those of us who profess to love the Lord that we seek Him to ensure that each of us are honoring the Lord with our "hearts," not just our words.  Because as the Prophet Isaiah said in Isaiah 29:13:

Isaiah 29:13 13 And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mineThey honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.

I am so eternally thankful for God's Word and how His Word can help us understand and bring comfort to any situation here on earth that we are faced with.  And, I am so eternally thankful for His love and His ever presence in my life and the lives of all those who seek Him.

The Lord is using this particular moment in time to make corrections where corrections need to be made – one being with the Prophetic.

Isaiah 26:8-11 8 Yes, in the way of Your judgments, O LORD, we have waited for You; The desire of our soul is for Your name And for the remembrance of You.  9 With my soul I have desired You in the night, Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek You early; For when Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. 10 Let grace be shown to the wicked, Yet he will not learn righteousness; In the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly, And will not behold the majesty of the LORD. 11 LORD, when Your hand is lifted up, they will not see. But they will see and be ashamed For their envy of people; Yes, the fire of Your enemies shall devour them. NKJV

God is Calling the Prophets into Correction

There are those who admitted that something was wrong and are seeking the Lord for understanding.  And, that’s exactly what God is looking for.

The Prophets are not only losing those who “partner” with them – they are even receiving death threats.

Needless to say losing their “partners” will affect their donations.  And, given their followers are now threatening them they probably will not be able to sell their many books!

Merchandising:  More to the point, what God gives to the Prophets they should give freely to the Body of Christ – not turn what God has given them into merchandising.  If God gives any of us revelation – then freely share it with the Body of Christ – don’t turn His Father’s house into a “Den of Thieves”!

The Lord is trying to get America’s attention.  Many will respond in a way that is pleasing to the Lord – on the other hand many will not.  We can only pray that God will have mercy on America.

[1] A Rhema Word:  Again, on the night of the election when I asked the Lord to quicken me to Scriptures for understanding about Biden the Lord brought Isaiah 21, Isaiah 22, Isaiah 33 and Revelation 3:7 to mind.  In other words, I was asking the Lord for a "Rhema Word" - a Scripture that fit the circumstances.

Before going further, for those who are not familiar with the term "Rhema Word" I want to take a moment and explain what a Rhema Word is and why it's important.  It's important to understand that there are two different words used in Scripture regarding the "Word of God":  Logos and Rhema.  Logos is speaking of the Written Word meaning Scripture and a Rhema Word is speaking of a specific Scripture that the Lord brings to mind that is applicable to the present situation you are in or concerned about.

For example, when Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, Christ answered Satan by saying, "It is Written".  Christ would refer back to Scriptures (the Logos Word) from the Old Testament that were applicable (the Rhema Word) to Satan's Temptation.

Scripture tells us that Dreams and Visions are riddles and for that reason I always ask the Lord for a Scripture that will give me the correct understanding of the dream or vision.

Regarding this year's election, I shared with several people that the night of the election one of the Scriptures the Lord quickened me to regarding who would win the election was Revelation 3:7.  The understanding the Lord gave me was that it was according to His will that whoever won Pennsylvania would win the election.  And, I documented this the day before Biden had even taken the lead and before AP called Pennsylvania for Biden and Trump was still claiming that he had won Pennsylvania.

And, interestingly, someone emailed back and wanted to know if I was aware of the prophecies that Trump would win and if I thought any of them were legitimate.   I was aware there were prophecies but I didn’t know what they were.  So, to answer his question I decided to look at some of the prophecies that were online.

Whether he realized it or not his question seemed to be asking me “Did God really say?”

His question really got my attention.  Again, to answer his question I decided to look at some of the prophecies that were online.  And, interestingly, so many of them were based on a dream or a vision or another prophetic word from someone else that confirmed their dream or vision(?).  A Prophet should not have to go to other Prophets.  You either hear or you don’t.

However, I never heard anyone say that the Lord quickened them to a specific Scripture to discern their dream or vision.  Or, I wondered why, if they were prophetic, did they need another prophet to confirm their word(?).  Granted, I probably didn't find all the prophecies, but I want to share what Jeremiah 23:25-32 reveals about dreams verses the Written Word:

Jeremiah 23:25-32 25 “I have heard what the prophets who prophesy a lie in My name have said, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’ 26 How long will this continue in the minds of the prophets prophesying lies, prophets of the deceit of their own minds? 27 Through their dreams that they tell one another, they plan to cause My people to forget My name as their fathers forgot My name through Baal worship. 28 The prophet who has only a dream should recount the dream, but the one who has My word should speak My word truthfully, for what is straw compared to grain?”—this is the LORD’s declaration. 29 Is not My word like fire”—this is the LORD’s declaration—“and like a hammer that pulverizes rock? 30 Therefore, take note! I am against the prophets”—the LORD’s declaration—“who steal My words from each other. 31 I am against the prophets”—the LORD’s declaration—“who use their own tongues to make a declaration.  32 I am against those who prophesy false dreams”—the LORD’s declaration—“telling them and leading My people astray with their falsehoods and their boasting. It was not I who sent or commanded them, and they are of no benefit at all to these people”—this is the LORD’s declaration.

It's too easy for someone who has a dream to base their interpretation of the dream on their own reasoning and thoughts.  And, for that reason when we have a dream or vision, each of us should seek the Lord for a Logos Word to interpret the Rhema Word – meaning, ask the Lord for a specific Scripture that is applicable to their dream.

The Lord asked Jeremiah what is the chaff to the wheat - meaning what is a dream compared to His Word?  The Lord goes on to say that His "Word" is like a fire - like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces.

The Apostle Paul tells us that we are not to compare ourselves to other ministries and as such I can only stand behind what the Lord revealed to me - and I will let those who prophesied that Trump would win the 2020 election speak for themselves.  You might find it interesting to read their comments following Trump's defeat.

A Tribute to a Man who Honored the Lord

Union General Robert H. Milroy

The Lord will Honor those who Honor Him:  1 Samuel 2:30 reveals that the Lord takes pleasure in those who honor Him and Psalm 15 reveals that we are to honor even the memory of a man like General Milroy who like King David was a man after God's own heart.   A man who honored the Lord by speaking the truth from his heart regarding the injustice of slavery.

The purpose of this website is to honor the memory of Union General Robert H. Milroy a man who was guided by his Christian faith and as such he was willing to lay down his life for the freedom of the slaves in the Shenandoah Valley.

To begin with, I live in Snowden Bridge Subdivision in Stephenson, Virginia on the very land where the second battle of Winchester ended at Stephenson's Bridge.

Sadly, Snowden Bridge Subdivision was named after Confederate Lieutenant Colonel Snowden Andrews - the man who defeated General Milroy in June of 1863 during the Second Battle of Winchester.  Lieutenant Colonel Snowden was a man who fought for slavery - and who after General Milroy's defeat at Stephenson's Bridge - rounded up the slaves freed under General Milroy's command only to once again bind them up again with the chains of slavery.

And, sadly, even today many confederates are still quick to boast that Union General Milroy suffered a defeat at the hands of Confederate Lieutenant Colonel Snowden Andrews.

Union General Milroy may not have gained the military fame that Lieutenant Colonel Snowden did when he lost the battle at Stephenson's Bridge - but General Milroy didn't lose the moral struggle of the war - General Milroy won the war on slavery!

General Milroy's Legacy:  History bears witness that it was here in Frederick County Virginia - under the orders of General Milroy that the First of the Southern Slaves in America were set Free.  General Milroy's role in preserving the union and emancipation - the Civil War's greatest legacy - is that for which General Milroy is remembered.  In that, few were his equal.[1]

General Milroy was the first Union General to enforce President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.  A man who felt so strongly about abolishing slavery that even after the Confederate government placed a $100,000 bounty for his capture - he remained focused on setting the slaves free.  A man guided by his Christian faith and belief that God had chosen him as an instrument to eradicate slavery, Milroy cared little about what might happen to him.  Without a doubt, General Milroy was willing to lay down his life for those who had for so long cried out to the Lord to be set free from the inhumane bonds of slavery.[2]

General Milroy was one that preferred a good conscience before any secular interest or personal advantage.  The grace of God was always sufficient for General Milroy.  He always did what was right and spoke the truth regarding slavery from a sincere heart.

Under General Milroy's watchful eye, during his six month occupation, over 5,000 African Americans[3] were able to rise up from the dust and free themselves from the chains that had for so long bound them and depart from the Shenandoah Valley as free men and women - many of whom departed the Shenandoah Valley via the train at "Stephenson's Depot" located in Frederick County, Virginia.  And, in that, few were his equal.

In his zeal to set the slaves free General Milroy sent his soldiers into Frederick's neighboring counties to ensure that they too knew that they were legally free. And, it was because of General Milroy's aggressive and heartfelt policy that encouraged runaway slaves from the surrounding counties of Shenandoah, Warren and Clarke to find their way to the safety of Milroy's lines.  Seizing the opportunity of emancipation it was under the watchful eye of General Milroy that over 5,000 slaves were able to leave the Shenandoah Valley to points north where at last they were free.  At as they were departing Stephenson's Depot they were heard singing songs of freedom and religious hymns.

Ecclesiastes 7:11 reveals that " A good reputation is more valuable than costly perfume. And the day you die is better than the day you are born". NLT

And, as you read the following, there can be no doubt that the day of General Milroy's death was better than the day he was born.

To begin with - the following is a letter that I sent to Governor Northam of Virginia on June 13, 2020.

Copies of this letter were also sent to the Winchester Star and on June 17, 2020 on page A4 of The Winchester Star they posted excerpts from said letter with the heading "A proclamation to be proud of.  And, on June 18, a newspaper in General Milroy's hometown of Rensselaer, Indiana also posted excerpts from said letter with the title reading "A tribute to Gen. Robert Milroy.  A copy of both news articles immediately follow the letter that I sent to Governor Northam.

This website is a work in progress and other information will be added in the very near future.

The letter to Governor Northam of Virginia is as follows:

June  13, 2020

Ralph S. Northam, Governor of Virginia

The following was taken from your website regarding "Juneteenth National Freedom Day":  "NOW, THEREFORE, I, Ralph S. Northam, do hereby recognize June 19, 2019, as the JUNETEENTH NATIONAL FREEDOM DAY in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all our citizens".

Given that the "Juneteenth National Freedom Day" will be celebrated nationwide next week I wanted to bring to your attention to another date that  is worthy of celebration and is unique to "Frederick County" Virginia.  Are you aware that on January 5, 1863, only five days after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation that in addition to Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, while standing on Virginia soil, that Union General Robert Milroy issued his own Proclamation titled "Freedom To Slaves!" and it was under his command that the "First" slaves were set free.

While "Juneteenth" commemorates the effective end of slavery in the United States when Union General Granger stood on Texas soil and informed everyone that all slaves were free - "January 5, 1863" commemorates the date when Robert Milroy the "First Union General" stood on Virginia soil and informed everyone that all slaves were set free.  And, it was here in Virginia that the first slaves were literally set free!

Frederick County, Virginia has a legacy that no other community in America can celebrate.  It is here in Stephenson and Winchester where the first Southern slaves were freed in response to the Emancipation Proclamation of President Abraham Lincoln. It is a legacy for which all Virginians as well as the citizens of Frederick County can be proud.

The man most responsible for actively freeing those first 5,000 slaves was General Robert H. Milroy. Without a doubt, General Milroy was willing to lay down his life for those who had for so long cried out to the Lord to be set free from the inhumane bonds of slavery.[1]  And, in that, few were his equal.

Given these troubling times, as a resident of Virginia I believe that it is important to honor those who acted bravely (especially in the face of strong opposition) to develop our nation’s honorable identity and ensure every following generation realizes the importance of remembering the things which helped shape our national union.

Stephenson and Winchester like so many other towns and cities have historical ties to Slavery and the Civil War.  However, Stephenson and Winchester is the only Community to be able to claim that when President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation that it was here in Frederick County under the command of Union General Robert H. Milroy that the first African Americans were set free[2] many of whom departed the Shenandoah Valley via the train at Stephenson's Depot[3] that took them north to where their freedom was ensured.

On January 1, 1863 when President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, Union General Robert H. Milroy also known as the "Grey Eagle" was in command of the Union Army now in control of the Winchester/Stephenson area.  History bears witness that General Milroy was not only the "First"[4] Union General to enforce Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation - but on January 5, 1863 just five days after Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation General Milroy, an ardent abolitionist, posted his own Proclamation "Freedom to Slaves"[5] throughout Winchester and Frederick County.  In his zeal and passion to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation - General Milroy sent his men from plantation to plantation throughout Frederick County to ensure that every slave knew that they were "Free".  It was by these means - going from plantation to plantation and posting his own Proclamation "Freedom to Slaves" that Milroy ensured the freeing of all enslaved Virginians throughout Frederick County.

A copy of General Milroy's Proclamation "Freedom to Slaves" can be found in the War Department Collection of Confederate Records, National Archives.[6]

General Milroy's zeal to free the slaves was not just limited to Frederick County.  Milroy ensured the safety of all the runaway slaves from neighboring counties that made their way to Frederick County.  And, under General Milroy's watchful eye, during his six month occupation, over 5,000 African Americans[7] were able to rise up from the dust and remove the chains of slavery from their necks that had for so long bound them and depart from the Shenandoah Valley as free men and women - many of whom departed the Shenandoah Valley via the train at Stephenson's Depot singing songs of freedom and religious hymns.[8]

Isaiah 52:2 Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor. Remove the chains of slavery from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion. NLT

Just as the Prophet Isaiah encouraged the Israelites to rise up from the dust and remove the chains of slavery from their neck - General Milroy bid the same to African Americans.

The Promised Land:  It's important to note that General Milroy encouraged the newly freed African Americans to remain in the Shenandoah Valley.  His hope was that the "Land of Promise" for the areas African Americans would be here in the Shenandoah Valley.  Even though Milroy tired to convince the former slaves to remain in the area they were concerned that if the Union lost control of Frederick County then they would be re-enslaved.[9]

On June 15, 1863 when the Second Battle of Winchester - specifically the Civil War Battle  of Stephenson's Depot ended at "Stephenson's Bridge"[10] General Milroy and the Union Army under his command did lose control of the Shenandoah Valley and the African Americans who had remained in the Stephenson/Winchester area after being freed under President Lincoln's Emancipation  Proclamation once again found themselves bound by the Confederates chains of slavery.

General Milroy's Legacy:  Union General Robert H. Milroy may not have gained the military fame that Lt. Col Snowden did at Stephenson's Depot when he lost the Battle of Stephenson's Depot at Stephenson's Bridge - but General Milroy didn't lose the moral struggle of the war - General Milroy won the war on slavery!

It was here in the Winchester/Stephenson Area - under the orders of General Milroy that the First of the Southern Slaves in America were set Free.  General Milroy's role in preserving the union and emancipation - the Civil War's greatest legacy - is that for which General Milroy is remembered.  In that, few were his equal.[11]

I would hope that the citizens of Virginia especially those living in Frederick County, would want to highlight such an honorable history that no other county or community in America can claim!  Shouldn't we in Virginia as well as residents of Frederick County want to acknowledge such a man as Union General Milroy - a man who few were his equal?

General Milroy may have suffered a military loss at Stephenson's Bridge;  however, Milroy proved himself to be a man of conviction, courage and patriotism.  Above all, he should be remembered for his bravery in freeing African Americans from slavery.  General Milroy not only faced opposition from the Confederates but he faced a tremendous amount of opposition from within the Union including other Union officers who did not agree with Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.

Even when the State of Virginia and the Confederate Congress combined their resources and placed a $100,000 reward for Milroy's capture dead or alive he remained courageous in his beliefs that the prisoners of slavery should be set free.  That's the battle General Milroy won - the battle on slavery! Wouldn’t it therefore be highly appropriate at this point in time that we pay tribute to both Lt. Col. Snowden Andrews and General Milroy?

My intent is not to glorify General Milroy - only to honor him - and to deepen the understanding of Frederick County, Virginia's history and legacy which is so profound.

Needless to say, General Milroy's efforts to preserve the union and abolish slavery are most admirable.  Especially admirable given that he was the first Union General to enforce President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.  As already mentioned his efforts in preserving the union and emancipation - the Civil War's greatest legacy - is what Milroy should be remembered for most and in that, few were his equal.

On the other hand, long before the Civil War, the Slaves did not just wait for someone to come and free them - nor did those who had once been enslaved remain idle when it came to the emancipation of "All" slaves - and in that - "Few were their Equals".  For example, Frederick Douglas didn't wait for anyone to free him.  Even before the Civil War began Frederick Douglas freed himself from slavery by disguising himself as a free black man - and boarded a north-bound train to freedom.  Aware of what would happen to him if he was caught - the train ride to freedom was a long nerve wracking journey to freedom.  He became a prominent activist, author of several books and a sought after public speaker.  He was one of the most important, renowned and distinguished leaders in the abolitionist movement - a movement which sought to end the practice of slavery both before and during the Civil War.  Until his death, Frederick Douglas fought for the equality and human rights for all people including equal rights for women.  And, in that, "Few were his Equal".

Like Frederick Douglas, the Slaves throughout America seized every opportunity afforded them to gain their freedom long before the Civil War began - and in that - few were their equals.  Even before Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation was issued on January 1, 1863 or General Milroy's Proclamation "Freedom to Slaves" was posted just five days later - the efforts to free themselves as well as help free other slaves had begun long before either Proclamation.

It's obvious from the thousands of ads posted in the newspapers by slave owners trying to recover their runaway slaves that like Frederick Douglas many slaves fled their captors.  Needless to say, many brave and heroic African Americans found ways to free themselves - and in that - few were their equals.  Without a doubt - their efforts - along with the many many other Abolitionists led to the Emancipation of "All" Slaves during the Civil War.

The slaves, the abolitionists and those like General Milroy who was an ardent abolitionist did not need Lincoln to convince them to fight for Emancipation.  Nonetheless, President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation and the military support of the Union Army was indispensable in "Legally" gaining the freedom and emancipation for "ALL" slaves.  The Congressional Act for the Release of certain Persons held to Service or Labor in the District of Columbia, signed into law on April 16, 1862, was our government’s first law to “liberate” slaves. However, it only applied to those within the nation’s capital. Although it didn’t bring liberty to Southern slaves, it was the government’s first brave efforts to do more than just stem the spread of slavery. It represented the trend of our highest leaders to address and correct the wrongs of slavery.

Freedom was more secure when supported by those like General Robert Milroy.  For General Milroy, President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation that acknowledged that slavery was morally wrong afforded General Milroy the "Legal" opportunity to right the historic wrongs of slavery - an opportunity he embraced with a zeal.

The Grey Eagle:  Melissa Widner wrote a 4th Grade Lesson Plan based on the biography of General Milroy that was to be used alone or with the Robert H. Milroy online Historical Records Collection Jasper County Library Rensselaer Indiana.  The Lesson Plan was based on the biography of General Milroy.

According to the "Robert H. Milroy Collection Jasper County Public Library Rensselaer, Indiana": page 1-2:  One day when Milroy was stationed at Cheat Mountain, a young slave came to the Union camp, Camp Summit.  His owner, a Rebel soldier, had sent him to fetch supplies.  Instead, had made a break for freedom.  Milroy gave the young man, Ben, a last name "Summit" and sent him to his home town of Rensselaer so that his wife Mary could teach him to read and write.  Eventually Ben joined the Union Army and became an officer.  page 3:  He spent the remainder of the war in Tennessee, where he started working to set up government and local help for starving families - former slaves and the wives and children of Union soldiers - many of whom were living in tents outside the larger towns and cities there.

On June 20, 1782, the Third Continental Congress adopted the Great Seal of the United States with the image of a bald eagle to represent America's strength, determination, courage and above all the Bald Eagle was meant to represent America's ideals of freedom.  However, it was only after the Civil War that "Freedom" for all Americans - not some - were Free.

And, that brings me to General Robert H. Milroy who was affectionately known by the men who served in his division as the "Grey Eagle".

It's obvious, from Milroy's shock of Grey/White hair why his men would compare him to the "Bald Eagle" as portrayed on the Great Seal of America.  Like the Bald Eagle, who wasn't at all bald, but had a full head of white feathers - Milroy had a full head of Grey/White hair.

And, Milroy could very well be compared to the "Bald Eagle" for another reason.  Like the Bald Eagle who stood for Freedom - Milroy was willing to lay down his life for the freedom of those that America had enslaved.

Following the Civil War, Colonel Joseph Keifer, author of "Slavery and Four Years of War" served in the United States House of Representatives as a Republican from Ohio from 1877 to 1885.  From 1881 to 1883 he was Speaker of the House.

In his book, Colonel Joseph Warren Keifer who served with General Milroy at the Second Battle of Winchester gives the following account of General Milroy's reaction when he first learned of President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.

"He (Milroy) pulled up his horse abruptly to answer my (Keifer's) question. A natural impediment in his speech, affecting him most when excited, caused some delay in his first vehement utterance. He said :

Colonel, don't you know that this is Emancipation Day, when all slaves will be made free ? "  He then turned to the halted troops and again broke forth: "This day President Lincoln will proclaim the freedom of four millions of human slaves, the most important event in the history of the world since Christ was born. Our boast that this is a land of liberty has been a flaunting lie. Henceforth it will be a veritable reality. The defeats of our armies in the past we have deserved, because we waged a war to protect and perpetuate and to rivet firmer the chains of slavery. Hereafter we shall prosecute the war to establish and perpetuate liberty for all mankind beneath the flag; and the Lord God Almighty will fight on our side, and He is a host, and the Union armies will triumph."

How profound!  Just as General Milroy, the Grey Eagle prophesied, the Union won the Civil War and Freedom for the African Americans who had been bound by the chains of slavery became a "Veritable Reality".

The Grey Eagle, was a man who was willing to lay down his life and fight for the Freedom of those he considered not only as his friends but as his equal - the enslaved African Americans.  The "Grey Eagle" truly loved the Slaves as he loved himself.  And, there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends.

To be willing to lay down his life for those enslaved meant that Milroy was willing to place the freedom of the slaves even above his own family.

How fitting that General Milroy was known as the Grey Eagle.  Like the American Eagle that adorns the Great Seal of America - General Milroy, the Grey Eagle, was all about "Freedom"!

On Wednesday July 8, 2020, I attended a meeting of the “Frederick County Board of Supervisors,” and given that the following comments would have taken longer to read that the allocated three minutes allowed for comments made by the public – I left a copy of the below letter with them of what I wanted to say:

Address to Frederick County Board of Supervisors

July 8, 2020

In his press release of June 4, 2020, Governor Northam encouraged all Virginians to be honest about our past and admit that the placement of Confederate statues on Virginia soil was wrong then and it is wrong now.  That we should take down the symbols of the Confederacy that give life to the ideology of the "Lost Cause" - because they should never have been there in the first place!

To pull down the false narrative of the Lost Cause that exalts itself against the knowledge of the truth.

Whether we like it or not slavery is part of America's legacy and is all-around us each and every day.  And, whether I like it or not, the name of my subdivision "Snowden Bridge" and "Snowden Bridge Blvd" are daily reminders that Confederate Lieutenant Colonel Snowden Andrews who defeated Union General Robert H. Milroy at Stephenson's Bridge where the Second Battle of Winchester ended re-enslaved the slaves set free by General Milroy here in Frederick County.

Union General Milroy may not have gained the military fame that Lieutenant  Colonel Snowden did when he lost the Battle that ended at Stephenson's Bridge - but General Milroy, the "First" Union General to enforce President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation setting 5,000[1] slaves free, didn't lose the moral struggle of the war - General Milroy won the war on freedom and slavery!

And, his role in preserving the union and emancipation - the Civil War's greatest legacy - is that for which General Milroy is remembered.  In that, Snowden was never his equal!

Given these troubling times, as a resident of Frederick County I believe that it is important to honor those like General Milroy who honored the Lord, the union and who honored those held by the Confederate chains of slavery by setting them free.  I would hope that the citizens of Virginia especially those living in Frederick County, would want to highlight such an honorable history that no other county or community in America can claim!

Yet, we have a subdivision and Blvd that honors an "Unrepentant White Supremacist".

By way of history:  Stephenson and Winchester like so many other towns and cities have historical ties to Slavery and the Civil War.  However, Stephenson and Winchester is the only Community to be able to claim that when President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation that it was here in Frederick County under the command of Union General Robert H. Milroy that the first African Americans were set free[2] many of whom departed the Shenandoah Valley, via the train at Stephenson's Depot[3] that took them north to where their freedom was ensured.  Pause and think about that!

On January 1, 1863 when President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, Union General Milroy also known as the "Grey Eagle" was in command of the Union Army now in control of the Winchester/Stephenson area.

Pause and think about that!

In his Proclamation "Freedom to Slaves![6] General Milroy informed the citizens of Winchester and Frederick County that he was going to actively enforce President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation and anyone who interfered would face consequences.  And, it is my understanding that to this day, that is why General Milroy is still hated in Frederick County.

General Milroy's zeal to free the slaves was not just limited to Frederick County.  Milroy ensured the safety of all the runaway slaves from neighboring counties that made their way to Frederick County.  And, under General Milroy's watchful eye, during his six month occupation, over 5,000 African Americans were able to rise up from the dust and remove the chains of slavery from their necks that had for so long bound them and depart from the Shenandoah Valley as free men and women - many of whom departed the Shenandoah Valley via the train at  Stephenson's Depot singing songs of freedom and religious hymns.

Isaiah 52:2 Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor. Remove the chains of slavery from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion. NLT

Just as the Prophet Isaiah encouraged the Israelites to rise up from the dust and remove the chains of slavery from their neck - General Milroy bid the same to the slaves here in Frederick County.

However, on June 15, 1863 when General Milroy and the Union Army lost control of the Shenandoah Valley the African Americans who had remained in the Stephenson and Winchester area after being freed, once again, under Confederate Lieutenant Colonel Snowden Andrews found themselves bound by the Confederates chains of slavery.

And, every day, the name of my subdivision "Snowden Bridge" and Snowden Bridge Blvd are reminders that Confederate Lieutenant Colonel Snowden Andrews re-enslaved the slaves set free by General Milroy.

In his press release Governor Northam made the comment that black oppression has always existed in this country, just in different forms.  And he makes mention of George Floyd.

When reflecting on George Floyd one cannot help but think of Isaiah 52:2.  George Floyd who was face down in the dust - the police officer's knee on his neck - just another form of the chains of slavery on their necks that the prophet Isaiah spoke of in Isaiah 52:2.  Just a different form of black oppression.

Governor Northam's proposed legislation to let cities and counties decide what to do with monuments in their communities - take them down, move them somewhere else, or add additional

context is an encouragement for me to step forward and ask - are we in Frederick County willing to step up and heed Governor Northam's advice?

Controversial monuments, especially Confederate monuments, have been the subject of nationwide debate for decades.  Symbols

George Floyd.png

of the confederacy commemorate and celebrate the "Lost Cause" of the Confederacy.  However, if we're honest about it - the "Lost Cause" was not a righteous cause let alone a good cause.  It was and is just that:  a Lost Cause in the true sense of the phrase.

It's time for Frederick County to remove symbols of racism - to remove the statues of Confederate leaders who fought to retain slavery during the civil war - to remove their names from our streets and subdivisions.  It's time to rename schools, parks, roads, anything and everything that pays homage to the false narrative of the Confederacy.  It's time because the statues of men who fought to defend the right to enslave others should never have been there in the first place.

Which brings me to the land proffered to Frederick County by Brookfield the Developer of "Snowden Bridge" for the development of a park.

The land for an athletic park proffered to Frederick County by Brookfield - builder of Snowden Bridge is historically tied to the Second Battle of Winchester that ended at "Stephenson's Bridge"[7] that both Milroy and Snowden fought in.   In fact, if you stand at the entrance of "Snowden Bridge" and look left - about a quarter of a mile down the road - the bridge you see that crosses over the railroad tracks is where the old wooden Stephenson Bridge crossed over the railroad tracks.  It only takes one minute or so to walk from the entrance of Snowden Bridge to where the Old Stephenson's Bridge crossed over the Baltimore and Ohio railroad.

While it is unprofitable to “live” in the past, it is wise and prudent that we not forget the past as they coexist. We need to remember that the land proffered to Frederick County by the Developer of Snowden Bridge will always be tied to the legacy of Snowden and Milroy - men whose names are forever linked together - as well as the Second Battle of Winchester that ended at Stephenson's Bridge.  Therefore, I can't think of a better way to acknowledge General Milroy's contribution to Preserving the Union and to memorialize his role in the emancipation of Southern slaves here in Frederick County than to name the athletic park after him.

It's my understanding that the Parks and Recreation Department will not ask the public for name suggestions for said park until funding is secured.  However, given that much of the present unrest in America revolves around the multi aspects of the civil war and that Snowden Bridge Subdivision is located on a civil war battlefield I feel this is a good time to bring the truth about Confederate Lieutenant Colonel Snowden to light "BEFORE" the park bears his name

I bring this up because of an article I read in the Winchester Star dated October 11, 2019 concerning "Stonewall Park".

According to the news article 50 names were submitted by the public to the Parks and Recreation Department as a possible name for the park.  And, from those 50 names the Parks and Recreation narrowed the list down to three names which they then submitted to the  Frederick County Board of Supervisors.  And, of those three names - the name for "Stonewall Park" was unanimously chosen by the Frederick County Board of Supervisors.

Therefore, given that the above mentioned land has been set aside for the purposes of a park and that the Frederick County Board of Supervisors has influence in this area I would like to propose that the Board take the initiative and when deciding the name of the park to be built on land adjacent to Snowden Bridge - take the opportunity and highlight Milroy's Proclamation "Freedom To Slaves".  A Proclamation that all of America can be proud of - not just Frederick County!

If Frederick County is going to honor someone from the civil war who fought on the battlefield where "Snowden Bridge" stands - then let's honor the one that fought on the right side of history - someone like General Milroy who fought for the freedom of everyone - who fought to make America great.

When the time comes for the Parks and Recreation Department to ask the public for name suggestions hopefully they will also inform the residents of Frederick County of General Milroy's role in helping to Preserve the Union and Emancipation - the Civil War's greatest Legacy!  To make sure that the residents of Frederick County will know who General Milroy was.

In fact, given today's protests and unrest "why" wait until the resources are available to begin construction of the park to ask the residents of Frederick County to suggest a name for the park in question?

I, for one, suggest the "Robert H. Milroy" park or the "Grey Eagle" park as General Milroy was affectionately known.  And, hopefully, my suggestion will be one of the three that is presented to the Frederick County Board of Supervisors.  And, that they in turn will make the motion to select "Robert H. Milroy" or the "Grey Eagle" as the name of the park and place a placard within the park with a copy of "Freedom To Slaves" posted for all to read - a Proclamation that all of Frederick County can be proud of.  A "teaching" placard that will give insight into our local history that is worthy of national recognition.  A history that no other county or state can claim.

As Governor Northam bid all Virginians to be honest about our past - by all means let us be honest about who Union General Milroy was.  And, by all means let us here in Frederick County be honest about who Snowden was and who he was not.

General Milroy would have embraced a park where all races played together.

On the other hand, does anyone really believe that Snowden would have felt the same way.  To use an old saying, I would think that Snowden would be turning over in his grave if he knew that the very subdivision that bears his name is not a segregated neighborhood.  I really don't believe that Snowden would feel honored that Snowden Bridge is named after him -  because it goes against everything that Snowden and the Confederacy stood for.

Again, the man most responsible for actively freeing those first 5,000 slaves was General Milroy. Without a doubt, General Milroy was willing to lay down his life for those who had for so long cried out to the Lord to be set free from the inhumane bonds of slavery.[8]  And, in that, few were his equal - certainly not Snowden.

As, this most highly regarded man is inevitably linked to the Second Battle of Winchester that ended at Stephenson's Bridge, it seems highly appropriate to suggest either "General Robert H. Milroy" or "Grey Eagle" as he was affectionately known - as the name for the athletic park.

In the July 7, 2020 edition of the Winchester Star there was an article concerning the street in Winchester named after "Jubal Early" who fought alongside Snowden at the Second Battle of Winchester and like Snowden was an unrepentant white supremacist.

The article goes on to read "But recent nationwide civil rights protests have prompted some Winchester residents to question why the city has a street named after Early, who once wrote that slavery should be commended for providing 'a great improvement in the moral and physical condition of the negro race.'"

And, because of the recent nationwide civil rights protests we here in Stephenson and Frederick County need to question why we have a subdivision and street named after Confederate Snowden Andrews.

To name a subdivision and Blvd. after Snowden, an unrepentant white supremacist is "Perplexing".  Seriously!  Really - what contributions of any value did Snowden make to help make America Great?

To understand the profound significance of General Milroy's contributions in the fight to make America great - General Milroy's story must be brought to light.  He - not Snowden is the one who fought to free the slaves - and that is what helped make America the great Nation that we are today - freeing the slaves from the inhuman chains of slavery - not just in the south but the north.

My intent is not to glorify General Milroy - only to honor the man that honored both the union and the Lord.  To name the park after General Milroy is meant to deepen the understanding of Stephenson's history and legacy which is so profound.

To name the park after General Milroy adds to Stephenson's landscape and in addition to the name of the subdivision and street would tell a much broader story of one of the most profound Civil War battles that took place right here in Stephenson.

Snowden's Memoirs:  Before leaving the life of Snowden I need to point out the following about Snowden because there's more to the story than a man who took an oath to uphold the institution of slavery and fought to keep men, women and children bound by the Confederate's chains of human bondage.

Even though Snowden died before he was able to finish writing his Memoir - his son-in-law did complete the book published by the "Press of The Sun Job Printing Office" in 1910.  And, if anyone would know the truth about Snowden - it would be someone like his very own son-in-law.

Even though Snowden was unable to return to the battlefield because of his war injuries - he was able to travel to Europe to purchase weapons for the Confederacy.  And, in reading Snowden's Memoirs we find that on his way back to America when he arrived in Cuba and found out that General Lee had surrendered - he vowed to never return to America.  And, vowing never to come back to America - Snowden went to Mexico for the next two years where he fought in Mexico's civil war as a General under the leadership of Emperor Maximilian.

Snowden chose to flee the South rather than help rebuild it.  Instead of choosing to return to America and help the South heal from the wounds of the American civil war, Snowden chose to go to Mexico and along with other Confederates had the crazy idea that they would establish a "New Virginia Colony".

In his press release Governor Northam stated that generations ago Virginia made the decision not to celebrate unity - but to honor the cause of division.  And, that's a decision that Snowden made - a native Son of Maryland who came over to Virginia to fight for Maryland he made the decision not to celebrate unity - but to honor the cause of division.   On page 35-36 of his Memoirs we find that Snowden received a Commission as Major in a  Virginia Regiment of Cavalry and in that sense Snowden was a Son of Virginia - albeit not a native son.

Many people debate whether or not those who fought for the confederacy were traitors.  However, there can be no debate that those who went to Mexico "after" the end of the civil war and fought for a regime that America did not support - were traitors.

And, it was only after Emperor Maximilian was overthrown and executed that Snowden, afraid if he stayed in Mexico that he too would be executed - having once again failed - with his tail between his legs returned to the United States.

According to his son-in-law after returning to America Snowden never took the oath of allegiance to the United States.  And, that begs the question - "Why" would anyone in Frederick County want a Street, subdivision or park named after an  unrepentant white supremacist who didn't even want his citizenship in America to be restored.

History bears witness that General Milroy spent the rest of his life helping to rebuild unity.  On the other hand, History bears witness that rather than stay and help rebuild and unite the South - Snowden fled to Mexico - only to once again fight on the wrong side of history.

And, even though Snowden refused to sign the oath of allegiance - the very Union he tried so desperately to destroy accepted him back with open arms.  Why?  Because the Union made the decision to celebrate unity - because the Union wanted to bring healing back to America - bring healing to what was now truly the land of the free.

I will close with the following:  As General Milroy rode into Frederick County he spoke these words to his troops:

"This day President Lincoln will proclaim the freedom of four millions of human slaves, the most important event in the history of the world since Christ was born.

And, needless to say, history has proven General Milroy correct.
